Obviously You Spurs fans arnt gonna like it.. But we could afford to chuck £50 Million at him. That's a lot of money for you guys.
Do you actually rate Kane though? I think he's OK. Nothing special. Just quite another good English striker overhyped simply because he's English. Far better players we could spend that sort of big money on.
I love that word. It's fire! The whole discussion about trying to lure him away from Spurs is superfluous anyway. It obviously is never going to happen.
He looks a TOP talent if Im honest. Despite not scoring for Spurs yet this term he still looks the part.21 prem goals in 34. Impressive.
0 in 5 games this season.
At the moment he's nothing more than a one season wonder. Now teams know about him he needs to maintain that scoring streak to be classed as anything other than 'good'.
Why not? They need to learn their place in the World. The whole discussion about trying to lure him away from Spurs is superfluous anyway. It obviously is never going to happen.
Theo Walcott has scored 12 goals in his last 13 starts.
If he keeps that up Wenger will be vindicated over his transfer decisions.
Yeah it was and I was one of the main posters on here calling for Wenger to sign a Top striker.First of all, that's a big if. A massive if, actually. Second of all, it was a huge and unnecessary risk to not buy a striker this Summer which would have provided more competition and given us more strength in depth. Furthermore, neglecting the DM position was just as, if not, more ludicrous.
So no, he most definitely would not be vindicated over his transfer decisions.
However.. If Walcott goes on to score say 25+ goals this term Wenger will have been proved correct in his assessment.
At the end of the day he didn't sign a striker because he didn't feel he could get someone in who could do a better job that what he already had. (to paraphrase)
The thing that's interesting even if Walcott suddenly does push on to the next level and really reaches his potential. I doubt many of the anti-Wenger posters will admit he was correct in his decision.
Personally I would like to see us add another TOP forward but on the other hand I could see Walcott surprising a lot of people and hitting big numbers this term.
No, he wouldn't. Walcott could score 50 goals this season and it still wouldn't vindicate Wenger's decision to not acquire a striker this Summer when we had the means to. He took a risk that he didn't need to. If Walcott does succeed this season, that would be in spite of Wenger's decision making, not because of.
I'm not sure Wenger still has what it takes either. Thats not really what Im arguing.Let's not be juvenile with such labels of 'Anti-Wenger'. I want the man to succeed and do well for us. My personal view is that he isn't capable of it anymore, that doesn't mean I want him out regardless of any future circumstances. Nevertheless, Walcott has been with us since 2006. Nearly 10 years now. If he doesn't fulfil his potential soon, he never will. He and Arsene have had more than enough time to be fair.
I have to say I always thought Walcott had the potential. I still think his best role may be as a WF but who knows perhaps he can develop into a top class CF. (He can certainly finish and his pace is phenomenal so thats a good start.)It's not just about the numbers he hits. It's about the importance of those goals and whether those goals win us games or whether they are scored when we are in our comfort zone. Can he do it on a regular basis? Can he do it in the big games? Can he be relied upon consistently? I'm yet to be convinced, but will be delighted to see him do well for us.
The reason why he played so well against Leicester was due to the open space they left at the back. If more teams do that, he will get plenty of joy. If teams sit deep, however, his influence is limited greatly and this will be problematic when teams come to the Emirates because they tend to tighten up.
Absolutely not. Walcott will not develop into a top striker without the games up front.
If we spent £50 million on Benzema you think Walcott would have been given the playing time needed up front?. I think thats highly unlikely.
If he does make the step up. I would say Arsene deserves some credit for that.

Lacazette looks likely to move this January after falling out with the Club President.
Could be worth a cheeky bid.
He did (not that it means a whole lot these days anyway), But according to the French press he is still unhappy with how the club handled it.I thought he signed a 3 year contract in the summer?
