Don't see how anyone in their right minds can consider us contenders if we don't make some quality signings before the transfer window closes. It's most likely we will only get one if we're even lucky, which still, again, as usual, is not enough. Hopefully Wenger pulls something off and for once, surprises us.

Looks like the Benzema and Cavani rumours will run to the bitter end, and then out of desperation he will end up getting Adebayor!!!
More like in desperation the papers will start saying that Benzema wants to buy his contract out so he can come to us on a free transfer in October, or that he's signed a pre-contract for a January transfer...

We were told AW could spend up to £200m if he wanted. Assuming that was correct does he get a bonus based on what he doesn't spend? I still wld like to see a DM to support/improve Coquelin rather than rely on Arteta or Flamini for cover. Why does AW ignore Theo Walcott who has just signed a new deal. Pace up front is always important. Any views?

Well.. My two cents. On current form Coquelin is one of the best DM's in Europe. (I agree with Arsene on that) - and statistics back up that assertion. So I actually think we only need ONE signing to mount a real challenge. A TOP class CF. Without a natural finisher we lack the killer instinct to finish of teams are remain vulnerable as we press higher and higher up the pitch looking to score. Giroud is a quality squad player but he lacks the cutting edge needed at the TOP level. Add a Cavani/Benzema/Lewandowski or Higuain to this team and I think we have a good shot. At the moment its infuriating having such a talented creative team without a real spearhead.
