That's the thing. We have a bunch of midfielders -Arteta, Rosicky, Wilshere and Flamini, who are injured or not suitable DM backup. Getting someone in would make the person available but also be a viable option over Coqs or to play alongside. Problem is things are dragging and you're not quite sure whether we'll get anyone new in or not. Looks like one of those nervous ends to a transfer window again...
But the big question is, are we going in for him? According to various media outlets, we're bringing Benzema in on a private jet for blah blah blah. Lets not forget cavani, Bender etc rumours. They are literally making stuff up at the moment.
I'm sorry but I ****ed up my post,I meant to say that I read his release clause was £/€ 22 million.I not sure if the price was in £ or €
I think his release clause is £100m+ the same as most big stars at Madrid and Barca, the actual price for him is probably around £55mil.
Zelalem going on loan to Rangers it looks like. Could be good experience for him. Gnabry already at west Brom and Wellington silva at Bolton.
Actually not close, but a done deal according to reports in Germany. Man City already look scary and now they have just added De Bruyne, who was the best player in Germany last season, and for a non-Bayern Munich to win that award is pretty special.
De Bruyne, Silva and Sterling feeding Aguero is scary, especially with Toure backing them up CM. You don't catch a team like that playing Fernandinho as a wing forward. Why is is it so hard to think it would do us good to play players in their best positions and to battle to start in that position. We've gone down the Hodgson route of picking the best players and shoe horning them into an XI regardless of their actual positions. Back five is nailed on. Coquelin is nailed on until we buy a DM that can challenge him. Ramsay and Wilshere then battle for a CM. Sanchez nailed on LW Ozil and Cazorla battle for ACM (Cazorla is unreal there and I think we've forgotten how good he was there since we signed Ozil) Walcott and Oxlade battle for RW (and Gnabry when he returns) Giroud and Welbeck battle for CF until we buy a forward who can score goals.
According to the Telegraph,Benzema to Arsenal could be back on.Apparently some French journalist was on Canal+ saying Arsenal have met with Benzema's agent
Seriously? They are still trying to run with this story despite Benzema saying he is staying with Real? Didn't someone give the French journo the telegram on this?
