Well he obviously doesn't have a place as a starter, so it's not a big problem, I think he may have started only once ever since Coq came into the team.

Yes but we should be looking at equal or better quality to/than Coq. Flamini is not up to par so we should be getting in the right man. We shouldn' have to play him for any reason.

If we can find any club who will go for him we should be moving flamini on. He came in and did a solid job in his first season after arriving on a free. You can tell he also likes to be at Arsenal and always gives his all every opportunity he gets. Unfortunately his form just wasn't good enough last season.

I'm happy for Arteta to be a squad back-up option for our midfield, but I'd bring in a quality DM to compete with the Coq and replace Flamini.

Arteta, for me is good to have around. He seems to command respect around the club and I hear he's been considered for a coaching role at Arsenal after he hangs his boots up.

Definitely keep Arteta around, but if possible I'd get rid of Flamini, or if not absorb the hit of paying his wages for a year and still sign a replacement. Then look to loan Flamini out in Jan (possibly to one of the newly promoted sides) and have serious competition/cover for Coq.

I think this is important, because Coq has never played a full season before, so needs the ability to be rested/rotated to ensure he doesn't burn out.

Yup and needs to keep on his toes knowing there's competition if he gets too comfy.

I've never rated Flamini - he had one good Season in his whole career (he's 31). I love his enthusiasm but he's not a great technically and he's not particularly athletic.

He's just a hardworking little midfielder. I don't think he's quite good enough for a club like Arsenal.

He would be a decent player at a Newcastle/Everton/Spurs but he's not top four quality.

I think he was great for at least the 1st 6 months when he came back to us, if not the whole season. Had loads of bite, huge work rate and tackled everything in sight. He's problem was his ball skills and his positioning, which combined with his dramatic decrease in stamina this season has left him painfully exposed.

But his partnership with Fabregas looked really, really good before he jumped ship to Milan.

I don't think it's fair to say he jumped ship.Up until his final season Flamini was nothing more than a squad player then Silva was late back from the Copa America and Flamini seized his chance. He had not been offered a new contract up until then and on the basis of his form during that season Arsenal decided to offer him a new contract.Personally I never blamed the lad for ****ing off

My opinion is that Diarra would have had a long Arsenal career at DM if he'd showed a bit more patience. But he ****ed off and disappeared into obscurity.

Sounds as though Schnederlin is already in negotiations with a move to another club:

“The negotiations are ongoing and should be completed in the coming days, hopefully before the resumption of [Southampton’s pre-season] training next week,” he said.

Of course he could be signing another contract with Southampton, but you'd think it wouldn't matter if that was completed during pre season. The fact that he wants it done before they regroup suggests he's negotiating with another club.

I hope so. He might be tempted if Utd are in for him, but they already have Herrera, Fellani, Carrick in there. You would think he has more ambition than to sign for the Spuds though, they were basically on a par with Southampton last season.

You'd think It was us as there is more opportunity to break into our DM position. Coqs is still green.

The French connection might help too. I hope we get him, proven in the premier league and I think he's ripe to make the step up to a big club.
