http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...interested-Yoann-Gourcuff-Victor-Wanyama.html Gourcuff - God no. Wanyama - Was impressed with him when he played Barca, but have not seen much more of him since. Would also cost more money compared to the likes of Diame and M'Vila.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/jan/21/newcastle-united-montpellier-yanga-mbiwa Come on Arsene, this is a player we need.
Gourcuff will not leave according to SSN. We are being linked with Florian Thauvin and a last minute hijack of MY Mbiwa.
What I find disappointing is we never / Rarely get rid of anyone as a makeweight in these deals . I thought some of our French /French speaking deadwood Could swing a deal in our favor with French clubs Must be because of the mad amount of cash we are paying some of these clowns Still worth a try Gervinho anyone?
People are complaining about Gourcuff but the truth is he has 'World Class' ability. In terms of sheer talent he's better than anyone in our squad bar Wilshere and Carzorla. Personally I would take him in a heartbeat.
That is true. Chamakh and Gervinho were actually pretty good in Ligue 1. But nobody wants them back, because as you say, we pay them handsomely for their terrible service.
Gourcuff just seems like a pansy who would just make us even more of a pushover. Then again, I haven't seen enough to judge. Also he's a CAM right? That is a position we don't need to strengthen, unless of course Goetze or someone extraordinary comes along.
He's 6'2 and fairly muscular. He is still considered by the French footballing community as more talented than Ribery and Nasri. He was the player the French press really pinned their hopes on. (the 'next Zizou'). The guy is a serious talent. Just a string of injury problems and a falling out with the management at Lyon have hampered his career. I'm a fan, Personally I would much rather we signed this kind of player. (someone with World Class ability but is perhaps a bit of a risk) rather than just adding more of the same. For the same reason I think we should go in for M'Vila.
Sounds good, could be worth a punt at a low price. I'd rather get a centre back, defensive mid, and striker before we even think about it though.
Linked with Celtic's Victor Wanyama by the Indepedent: http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...tics-wanyama-to-bolster-midfield-8460943.html Would be an excellent acquisition. He is a 21 year old who has proved himself against Barca in the Champions League. He's a very strong defensive midfielder who is calm on the ball. He's exactly what we need.
We are going to need more than M'Biwa, who is the only player we seem to be strongly linked with at the moment.
Personally I am not keen on M'biwa. Would much rather the rumours about Benedickt Hoewedes were true.
As Arsene Wenger spoke to the media today ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League clash with West Ham tomorrow night at the Emirates, he has been asked about some of his transfer targets and, of course, Wilfried Zaha came up. The Crystal Palace player, who is said to be close to joining Manchester United, was repeatedly linked with Arsenal but Wenger said ‘If Zaha goes to United, good luck to him. We were never in for him, never. Asked then about potential targets Wenger said that he was looking to bring in two players and added “I will not give you any names. We are working very hard.” He was also asked about Mo Diame to which he replied ‘He has a great presence in the games, I have seen him have a big impact’ No doubt headlines will be running very shortly saying that Wenger has confirmed interest in the player.
He can also slot in as an emergency centre back, and would never be away on ACoN duty as Kenya are dire
