I'd be really surprised if Dortmund sold Reus this summer, I would imagine he will go for £35,000,000 next summer as that is when his release clause allegedly kicks in. We should get Sanchez now and pick up Reus next summer.......
Only problem is that Reus is injured, but on every other level it makes sense. He can play across the front 3 or as a CAM, and he's also a Puma athlete, which makes the sponsors happy. And he idolises Tomas Rosicky as well, why not team him up with his idol? And the fact he's a brilliant player doesn't hurt either. I agree with you, **** Sanchez, lets get Reus.
I don't think being a PUMA athlete makes any difference. How many players did we sign because of Nike,Adidas Umbro etc ?
None, but we were never the flagship team of those companies, we're Puma's main team now, and they'll want some input.
RAC1 (Catalan radio station) have apparently said that Sanchez has chosen us over Juventus and he's on the verge of signing for us
I'm not going to get excited until it's confirmed by Arsenal.com, but I think the Sanchez deal has been worked on since before the world cup when Dick Law and Ivan Gazidis met with representatives from Barca to discuss a transfer to Arsenal. I wouldn't be surprised if this deal had been agreed in principal a couple of months ago
We were when we first signed a deal with Nike.As I recall we were the first major club side to wear a Nike kit.We were certainly the first in the P.L.
You're giving the club way too much credit there. Was Sanchez even available prior to about a month ago? I have no Doubt that Wenger met with Sanchez's agent in Brazil, but i highly doubt we've been working on this for months. We're Arsenal, it takes us 2 months to book a flight abroad to meet with representatives, let alone negotiate a deal...
Just a thought on Suarez, has the Barcelona appeal on their transfer ban taken place and I missed it ? If not, and the appeal loses, does the Suarez transfer stand ?
Don't just take my word for it, it might not fit in with your view of how we do business but there are plenty of stories that both Dick Law and Ivan Gazidis met with representatives of Sanchez and Barca back in May. Same with the Ozil deal, Arsenal were working on that a couple of months before we signed him, with Gazidis negotiating with Real and Law negotiating with Ozil's father and agent in Germany.
You post some rubbish at times Kyle.Do you think a manager just wakes up in the morning and thinks "I think I'll buy x or y player today" Do you honestly believe Barcelona only contacted Liverpool about Suarez after he bit Chiellini ? I bet Barcelona & Liverpool have been negotiating for months and no doubt Arsenal have been negotiating for Sanchez for months as well I said in an earlier post about Gazidis meeting the AST in June and as he said there that AFC were in negotiations for players.
Whilst they are waiting for the appeal I suppose there is no transfer ban. What happens after is anyone's guess
What are you talking about? You click 'search' in the top right corner, use a filter to only look for 'strikers' with finishing over 17 and pace over 17... find someone you want, click 'make an offer'... offer them solid wages, and they're yours within 24 hours. BOSH!
Do we smell a done (nearly) deal according to the bookies......... TRANSFER ODDS SKY BET Latest: Could Arsenal be edging closer to a deal to sign Barcelona's Alexis Sanchez? The Gunners are as short as 1/3 to sign the Chile striker, although Liverpool are 2/1 in the latest betting.
Gutted if you guys sign Sanchez. We'd have weakened our team by selling Suarez (not that we have a choice as he has to go) but inadvertently strengthened you guys Hopefully he becomes another Arshavin though
