What is the point in mentioning signings and saying "we want to bring 2 players in", when he has no intention of signing anyone? It's almost like Wenger enjoys making us hate him. If we don't make top 4 due to his refusal to spend, there should be only 1 outcome.

He'd be daft to say that the current squad wasn't good enough though.

You need to realise that whatever he says to the press he says it to his own players as well. It is always on his mind I think. So what do you expect him to say? That the current squad are unable to finish 4th? That he does not trust his players? That we have no strikers good enough for Arsenal? That current midfield can not cope without a proper DM? I am sure he cares much more about how his words will affect his players rather than how it will please you. Or me, or any other fan.
