Thats odd, because he says they are willing to pay him £6.4 million a year, which works out as 125k a week.
Which isnt really an outstanding amount for a footballer, especially one of Xavi's quality. He could probably get more than that in Europe, despite his age, and definately more than that in Asia or the US.
Why would you want to move to the desert and get a smaller wage when you could go to Japan or Florida and get paid twice as much.

    Odd move.

Yann M'vila has too much talent to waist his career in Eastern Europe.

He'll end up at a big club.

But for Arsenal I would prefer.. Khedira, Bender or Gustavo though.

    Sanchez is being linked again.

Not that we are short of Wide players but Sanchez would be a brilliant signing.

Imagine Walcott on the right and Sanchez on the left - Tons of goals.

There's not enough pace in this Arsenal side currently. We were unable to cut teams apart because we had no-one willing to run in behind and on the counter. Either Sanchez or Reus would be excellent additions.

I'm a big fan of Reus. Here is a winger that can play on both sides, defends decently, and scores goals. I dare say he could fill in at DM in an emergency.

I doubt we could sign him, but I dare to dream.

I doubt many (if any) would turn down the chance to sign him. Ain't gonna happen though.

    http://metro.co.uk/2014/06/19/arsen...zukic-as-mario-balotelli-alternative-4767422/

Not a great source but this is really what Wenger should be looking at, either Balotelli or Mandzukic, both great players.
Either would make you title contenders imo, provided you get a RB too. (and maybe a DM).

Which would you guys prefer if you had the choice?

Mandzukic is older but then he is more experienced and has a cooler head and has a great scoring record (33 goals in 54 league games for Bayern).
Balotelli has a similar scoring record for Milan (26 goals in 43 games) but is more raw, which could mean there is room to develop him into a better player, or that he may go off the rails.

    Battle of the Marios!

Why not both and sell Giroud? Gives us two very different players with great experience but I see Mandzukic as a slightly better OG. Failing that, Balotelli, mainly for the shenanigans. I loves shenanigans me.

I dont see Wenger spending that much cash to be honest.
Giroud would be fine as back up, if you had a great starting forward. Walcott can also play up front in a pinch.

Personally I hope its Balotelli too, he is far more unpredictable and would make the league more entertaining.

pace is key. Ramsey busts it to get into the box, no-one else does. When Ramsey was out often there was no-one in the box as Giroud for some reason doesn't push on the last defender. Compare that with Chile last night.

I don't think Giroud got the best support when he had Podolski/Rosicky/Cazorla/Wilshere playing wide of him.

Everyone keeps on harping on about the DM position and Striker, but for me, our winger situation was/is far more dire, particularly when Walcott and Ox were out. And we really did need to ditch Sagna, he was not rampaging down that right side like he used to.

Yeah I know, I was being greedy! I quite like Ollie in all honesty. We can all see his faults but he's a solid EPL striker and offers a bit of physicality to the side. Madzukic is very similar to him so if I can only have one I'd bring in Balotelli as he's not only quality but also offers a different dimension to the side. Plus, he's heeee-larious!

Don't know why people complain about the stuff he gets up to outside of football, it's just plain comedy. He's had a couple of stupid red cards but so have plenty of players
