Tottenham Hotspur hit by attempted transfer fraud

Tottenham have been the victims of an attempted fraud after a Croatian middleman forged a signature to try to sell them a Dutch striker.
The fraudster contacted Spurs claiming FC Twente had authorised him to sell Holland Under-21 player Luc Castaignos.
The Croatian gave Tottenham a document supposedly signed by Twente's chairman but when they contacted the Dutch club, they discovered it was forged.
"A player has been offered with this forged document," FC Twente confirmed.
"The forgery has been made known to the KNVB (Dutch Football Federation), with the request to pass it on to Uefa and Fifa and take the appropriate measures."

I can see it would have been funny if we'd paid it. But we smelt a Rat and turned them over to Dutch police. Why is that providing you amusement?
 
Too many rumours circulating about Draxler and that interview with Wenger after the Southampton match gave the game away that we were chasing a transfer.
 
Wayne Vesey (or however you spell it), the guy who leaked the Ramsey injury news, said we're now after a CM in addition to chasing Draxler
 
Rosicky was just a broken nose wasn't it? A CM seems excessive as when players come back they'll be very overstocked, but then Diaby should leave this summer & with Frimpong going there may be room.

A new striker is surely still top priority!? It doesn't seem like there's any chance of getting a proper striker.

I think probably because Ramsey will be out for awhile and Frimpong is leaving. Veysey says we're looking at Morgan Schneiderlan and another ITK says we've made an inquiry for Lars Bender. Also interesting to note that Holtby has arrived in Dortmund and Schalke's area in Germany and Dortmund have no medicals scheduled meaning he's probably getting a medical at Schalke. Seems to me like compensation for Draxler's departure

IMO our midfield is like this:
DM: Arteta, Flamini, Frimpong
CM: Ramsey, Jack, Rozza, Diaby, Zel, Oxo
AM: Özil, Santi, Rozza, Jack

Of our CMs 3 are injured (2 short term and 1 for about a month). Diaby is done, Zel is too young and Oxo hasn't been fully converted to a CM yet. It might be excessive but better safe than sorry.

Well the stories of us getting Draxler will be hugely increased if Holtby is getting a medical at Schalke. I'll be surprised if we come in for another player, particular a CAM, but if it's Bender, then it's all good.

Arsenal Bender. How will the fans greet that. Let me think...
 
I don't want to get my hopes up yet, but Draxler and Bender would be incredible additions to our squad.
