Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski is linked with a loan move to Bundesliga club Schalke in German newspaper Bild. Podolski, 28, is under contract with Arsenal until 2014. http://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/schalke/poldi-soll-als-leihgabe-kommen-31942924.bild.html What the blazes, this makes no sense whatsoever. The translation was gibberish but this is the main gist of it: Poldi advantage: Unlike Arsenal, he would have a starting-place sure could for the World Cup starting place for himself in the Bundesliga Jogi Löw recommend.
I have always felt that lukas has been under utilised/never fitted in with Wengers vision. I am jsut hoping that this means we are a long way down the road to signing Benzema and Di Maria, either that or Wenger is on the Levy payroll!!
It would be close to insane, loaning Podolski out with such a bare squad. There you have Chelsea, with a million and one creative and skillful players, yet they feel the need to bid for Willian. If Pod is injured, we have no one. If Walcott is out, we have no one. If Giroud is out we have no one. I can't think of another top team with such a thin squad as ours.
More rumours about Pod: German newspaper Bild now claim Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski, 28, is also attracting the interest of Tottenham Hotspur, Galatasaray and Wolfsburg. They still believe Schalke to be favourites for the German. http://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/schalke/an-podolski-dran-31929138.bild.html I would do a translation but it's rubbish. No idea where these rumours are coming from, probably totally made up but they could have made it believable!
http://www.theguardian.com/football/2013/aug/23/real-madrid-luis-suarez-karim-benzema-arsenal Yes please.
They mean 46M Euros surely? I really, really don't rate Benzema that highly. And he is that sort of lazy uninvolved type of player when you need him the most.
IF they are, the big question is to who. Two likely destinations are Arsenal and Spurs. We know that Chelsea are busy hijacking the Willian deal but will Spurs have more leverage with the Bale deal. You'd think he would want to come to us more but you never know. But then again, Chelsea could pop in with a bid, the greedy......
Is Di Maria is up for sale that cnut Levy will probably go for him as they have missed out on Willian
Football has gone to the dogs. Rich men buying everything in sundry and leaving naff all behind is getting very tiring. We've done the right thing and established ourselves as a very good self sufficient business, that is looked up to by everyone. But we have nothing to show for it. The rich men continue to buy everything, whereas we fight over the scraps. Look at Liverpool, they have masses of history, won everything under the sun and a fan base everyone would die for. They are now struggling for 6th place and being rejected by player after player, with little or no money to work with. Football has no soul.
I get an attack of this every now and again. It is a bit depressing. One of the reasons I have kept faith with Wenger so long. When you look at the dark side it seems a miracle he has kept us anywhere near these guys in the last 10 years. Football is a fickle bitch though, it may be that the AV game was an anomaly and we can still kick on this year. We shall see.
We are being linked to Kondogbia, Seventeen million release clause if we want him http://www.givemesport.com/370176-a...edium=outbrain&utm_campaign=outbrain-rss-feed
This guy is the next Yaya Toure. Sign him up now! 17 million is a steal for what he's gonna do over the next decade.
From that video his technique reminds me of Diaby a bit, on everything else it's as if he's Song's twin brother. From the messy wide-legged run, to the unbalanced standing tackles. (Not a negative analysis necessarily, I thought Song was useful)
Wenger saying that his targets have a 'desire to come to Arsenal' http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23809884
Maybe it would have been better for him to not speak on the matter, despite my WOB stance, i shall be fair here, he's accidentally talked himself into a situation that can be interpreted in a very negative fashion. If he's saying that players want to join us, then it sort of puts the blame squarely on his shoulders.
I think he's just calling it as it is. To be fair, I don't think he really gives a **** about what fans speculate over when it comes to transfers and the reasons they happen or don't. His job is to try and get them done, I have no doubt in mind that he would never try and sign a player who he knew he couldn't get to try just to say 'well, we tried' in an attempt to appease the moaners. It would be a waste of time and effort and serve no purpose whatsoever
