Some said they'd contacted the club shop and they denied the story,Apparently the club shop in Brent Cross also have no knowledge of the story
This story came up on twitter a few weeks ago. Mertesacker was allegedly going to change number to #17 or something else. This time it seems a little stronger, but it isn't original.
I think he could take #29 as Chamakh is leaving (hopefully) and that was his number at Bremen. Would love #4 to be for Cesc but I reckon #2 and #4 will probably go to our young full backs.
It's occurred to me that we're not going to be signing anyone for at least 3 weeks now, because of the tour. We all know everything runs through Wenger (the stupid way the backroom is setup) and Wenger is hardly likely to make any transfers if he's halfway across the world.
I don't believe so, I'm hearing that we are very active and multiple deals are close. In the case of Higuain he is on holiday, same Cesc, so it's the availability of players that are holding up progress more than anything. Every chance that once negotiations are complete and a deal is reached, the player(s) will travel for a medical and catch up with the squad on tour and will be formally presented at a press conference back at Emirates in mid Aug. I've been about as pessamistic as anyone in the last 12 months but I really do see positive things happening in the coming weeks, I can only urge people to be patient....
Players that are on holiday are not unavailable. If Higuain has not signed for Arsenal because he is busy getting drunk when he should be going on tour with us then there is zero chance of us signing him.
Players who have been involved in summer tournaments since the end of the domestic campaign are not only entitled to a holiday I'd suggest they need one...
PISKIE, what is silly about that? Higuain is actively seeking a new club, you think he is going to make himself unavailable so he can enjoy an extended holiday with a club he is meant to be leaving? If he is making himself unavailable then there is no chance Arsenal will pursue their interest in him.
