I hope that this more of an incompetence issue than an insolvency issue.

Turks have it in their nature to wheel and deal. It may have been something along the lines…

You want £5m for Lewie Barrie so we’ll agree that but can we also agree to remove the loan fee outstanding from that due to the fact he only was available for 4 games.

That’s not an excuse but it’s more incompetence and naivety rather than deliberately lying about the state of his finances to fans.

Sheffield United could’ve had a transfer embargo in the 24/25 season but they negotiated a 2-point deduction instead. I’d snap the EFL’s hand off for something like that now.
In the previous season before promotion thy didnt pay wages on 4 or 5 occasions and are in a similar spot with payments. Once a precedent has been set, you would hope City's lawyers would cite the same and take the points.

I dont think that anything they could say in the 18 hours would appease the situation. Once they have an exact grasp I am sure they will come out and give their version and the plan moving forward.
They already have an 'exact grasp',he was informed on Monday FFS..

It's now time to pass on the details to the bums on the seats...One Family!!

Who runs the non football side of things these days? Is it Joe Clutterbrook? Would this be his responsibility or is it actually Acuns?

its far more than aston villa
dont you get it yet?

Yeh I was wondering how all that works and who's responsible for it. It would be a huge job requiring specific skills and they should also be aware of the rules and consequences of missed paymenst etc. Surely Acun doesn't just have a bunch of Direct Debits set up <laugh>.

Not sure it's that specific a skill.. Just your standard accounts payable department. You'd basically have a bunch of recurring transfers set up and you'd just need to ensure there's sufficient funds.

I don't think that particular situation was incompetence or naivety, if it was me, I'd have a go at getting that loan fee deducted from the permanent fee as well.

I don't want to put the accountants down, skilled workers haha.

The problem is that the EFL don’t differentiate between incompetence and malice, we get punished either way.

I want to believe this was done because he got over excited and went mental. But I don’t see a situation where somebody worth hundreds of millions of pounds doesn’t know how ****ing structured payments work.

There are fair gambles , bosses egos and late paying deliberately by so many companies he’s not alone . He is a guy who puts positive spin on things, is it worse or better than Ehab being negative or secret or bluntly honest and tight .
My biggest worry is if he leaves us with a pile of debt no one will take on .
Out of interest have foreign owners predominantly been on the whole straight or dishonest with our footie clubs? It seems that many have tried to make money and left clubs in bad positions - what opportunities do they see that we dont ?
Last suspicion is what if you pay Sinik £30 a week , and from his own bank account he pays you 10 or 15 k back each week , is that possible as a private transaction , apart from tax however levied ?

A lot of them seem to think they can buy a Championship club throw a bit of money
at a few players and get promoted to the Premier League as they
are 'Successful Businessmen' and it can't be that hard can it ?

He’s not, is he? He’s barely worth £75 million last time I checked.

not like we've spunked a load of cash away to end up in a better position either. Squad is bloated, crap and not worth what was paid for it, training ground still ****, academy not changed. We've not flown too close to the sun and got burned, but come away with some positives, its just dire.
