Twelve is quite a low number for Gomez. Twenty-seven is common for a striker (2+7=9) and one that Robbie Fowler took when he returned tot he club.

they needed to do that the instant he was signed for shirt sales

It will be interesting to see who gets the next lot of 1-11 numbers.

1, 5, 8.....

no 3 and no 9 should soon be available too.

Can't see us signing a keeper so the number one shirt will remain vacant. I don't think anyone will be brave enough to take the number eight for a season or two. Will we sign a CB...?
 
mark wright might have been england captain but he was bought and promptly injured and lost two years for us. he had a late swansong for us in the back 3 but lets face it he was a disaster for the fee at the time.

He wore No.20 at Villa. That is Lallana's shirt. Maybe Lallana will get the No.8 and let Benteke keep No.20 <whistle>
 
Lallana wore 20 at Southampton so it's 'his' number as well. I think Benteke will go for 25 in line with his season goal tally - <laugh>

Yoda - Milner's taken number 7.
