I think AVB is now building his own team and we have to accept that if he doesn't rate the likes of Caulker there will be changes. Levy is obviously supporting him in the transfer market and I guess that both will be disappointed if Bale chooses to leave, nevertheless, AVB must build a side that can stand by itself without Bale because Gareth is not without a history of injuries (recurring back, ankle ligaments etc.). We can't afford to have our season falling apart because of an injury to one player.
All these recurring transfer situations don't have to happen, Spurs should be putting massive buy-out clauses into players contracts. If Bale had £100 M clause there RM could either pay up or FOFF. No discussion necessary. No one player is bigger than the club. As it stands at the moment all Levy can really do is try and get the best deal (providing Bale is hell bent on leaving), whether it be cash up front or cash plus players
I've no idea how Bale will do in the Spanish League, it would be quite amusing if RM didn't win their first 24 games with him on the team sheet. I'd have to wish him all the best though, it's been a pleasure watching him in a Spurs shirt. I think he's level headed enough to handle the move, whether he will be able to cope with the ego's of the other players who knows? If things didn't go well I'd guess Madrid could become a very lonely place.
