Despite the fact that he's not played a single game for Spurs yet you've decided that he is one of our most valuable and sought-after players who will "probably" be off in January because, er, why again? Why not start predicting Soldado's exit? This is so much fun it'll be a shame when the boring old games of football start up again. Soap operas and predicting future plot-twists is so much more fun!
madness, but in some ways it will probably be the making of caulker as I got the impression he never believed he was wanted at the Lane.
Very tempted to "dislike" this post If we needed to sell a centre back we should've got rid of Dawson, although I can't see why we wanted to sell a centre back at all, surely we need 2 in now?
He has'nt signed yet,he might not if he finds out Bale is going,at the moment no one knowingmight be a blessing
Don't worry Boss man, I actually agree with you here RE Carroll. Lets say for instance, Dembele has had a stinker of a couple of matches (likely as he does dip in and out of form), Tommy Carroll could be an ideal player to replace him in the starting line up for a game or two. Yes, he's slight of frame but size means nothing these days, ask Modric, Lennon and co. With Paulinho and Sandro, you could actually play a Juventus/ Italy-esque formation if Carroll were to start. I'm not trying to liken Carroll to Pirlo but you can see similarites, Pirlo is the main man for Juve and Italy, he makes the passes and get things going, either side of him he has Marchisio and Vidal or Marchisio and De Rossi being the guys who do the dirty work and a lot of running. Sandro and Paulinho are definitely two players with fantastic engines, Sandro would be the De Rossi (destroyer) and Paulinho the Marchisio (box-to-box) leaving Carroll to take the Pirlo role. I'm not saying it'll definitely work, but I think Carroll deserves a chance at starting a Spurs game where he's isn't playing alongside another squad player. Let him start with the big boys so to speak and see how it goes.
Boss : Nothing saying that Carroll will not come good as a CM playmaker. But based on what I've seen, what you hope for will not happen this season. And certainly not in the PL. I would prefer a loan out to a PL club, but even if not, there will be plenty of League/Europa Cup games and PL subs etc up to the new year, for Carroll to continue his progression.
Good man! Tom has fan number 2 haha But good points as playing Carroll in a system which allows him freedom to create, is one of the ways to answer his critics, as no one has said he's the finished product or we expect him to be bossing every game, even modric got stick for being inconsistent but anyone just has to ask themselves these question 1. do we lack vision from the centre 2. do we lack a creative influence Yes be the answer and considering Carroll has the ability, he surely deserves a chance to prove his case, especially when he has impressed in every game he's been called upon.
Right, I might be being a bit optimistic here, but SURELY the club must have known that we were all going to react like this over Caulker? So therefore, the announcement of a replacement must be imminent? After the striker (or lack of) debacle last year, SURELY we've learnt our lesson? SURELY?
I think its come down to the players first team game time, seems clear it was going to be limited with us and he's just not happy with everyones suggetions of being in the 'cups' defence. If he wants regular PL first team football, it appears he's only going to get that away from us. I wish him well.
Chiriches must definitely be on his way. Even if some reports have claimed a collapse, there's no way the club would sell a CB when we're already looking short with injuries.
Unfortunately your may be right, but not because I believe you're right in the sense he can't step up, but I don't believe he will be given a chance and managers don't always get decisions right.
Listening to Talk5hite earlier today, they had a former president of Real doing an interview, during which he was very confident that a deal was in the process of being struck. He's definitely off this Summer, and Levy will have allowed for that when letting Caulker go. I can only imagine that either (a) the deal for Bale includes a CB, or (b) the club already has one or two players lined up.
Haha indeed. I think the lad has a massive future (as I did with Caulker ) but the only way he's going to prove that is if he gets games - and not just Europa or cups. Creativity is something we lacked massively last year and it's something Tom has in abundance.
i take it kaboul is a long way off as all reports I read are a bit sketchy, no one seems to know for sure, does spur cat know his injury status?
