All fans have those that are pathetic, childish, stupid, hate filled etc...... just in order to wind their rivals up. Never been one to do that myself and will probably only indulge in it if we actually won something. Dont get me wrong, I take great delight when Newcastle are suffering, I enjoy the fallout, but I have never been one to rub noses into it, whether it be amongst friends or on a forum like this one. When people take the wummery too far I get so emarrassed. My focus is on Sunderland trials and tribulations and whilst I have an interest in Newcastles plight, it is merely a sideshow.

Fair do's Quentin mate. Lording it over another team (even your rivals) does eventually become somewhat boring. It's a bit like hitting someone when they are on the ground.

Not all fans see it that way, of course.

I can see where you're coming from. It's like one set of fans lording it over the other for having beaten the other's team 5 times in a row. Neither set of our fans would be so pathetic would they?

Oh, hang on a minute...

Ill second that about the Boro too, but Albert... Really? you sure that some mackems may **** about this ****? Really? Get a grip will ya!!:headbang:

Judging by the username changes and sigs some of you boys made to commemorate the 5 in a row I'd say top dog was something quite a few of your number would be all over right now.

It seems a few go through Kleenex at a rapid rate if there's a morsel of one upmanship to be had.

Personally, it's nothing more that a quick comeback when a Mackem drags up the 5 in a row or the big win a hundred or so years ago and sits in the category of banter at best.

It's 50 shades of **** in our region football wise and our turd smelt the least pungent in the end, nothing more.. Nothing less.

As people point out how bad Newcastle and Sunderland are, here's some cbrad facts for ya.
1. Newcastle became the first 3 team to lose at least half of their games in 3 successive seasons.
2. Despite this Sunderland have been so bad that in each of seasons they have finished below Newcastle.
3. With Sunderland being this poor we've managed to lose 5 derbies in a row to them.
4. Both teams (especially Newcastle) have been hammered countless times.

Not really, i thought we were dead and buried just about 3-4 weeks ago, so for the season to end the way it has? I would have took somebodies arm off. Finishing above Newcastle would have been an added minor bonus which would have raised a smirk for about 5 minutes but then would have been replaced by anguish that my club (and yours i suspect) will probably have to start from scratch, rebuild, and go through another uncertain season. I would feel quite sad if I felt the need to harp on if Sunderland sneaked a draw yesterday and would have felt embarrassed about any Sunderland fan who would have.
At long last a sane fookin statement on this thread. Albert, you are deluded and need some help. ..and anyone else joining in this top dogs shyte is either as deluded and needs help or is a p***k. Au revoir

The more you think of being Top Dogs yet again, it brings a tear to your eye.
The Capital of the North East overlording their neighbours in TYNE and wear.... <ok>

I think you might be correct in that.
There seems to be some of them getting a bit touchy about it, not that they'll admit it though <laugh>

Aye, either getting touchy about it or in some cases, conveniently ignoring it.

I mean, who wouldn't want to finish above your fierce rivals <whether you are both ****e or not>?

The Mackems doth protest too much.

Make no mistake they would be all over this board if they had finally secured a better league position than us and they know it.
It happens all over the UK when smaller clubs set their benchmarks against their bigger local rivals.

Ask the average Mackem in July what they want their club to achieve in the forthcoming season and most will say 'beat the mags' and 'finish higher than the mags'.

Speaks for itself.

Yet another season where we can have a laugh about the fact that, over 38 games we were the better side even when we were utter crap.
