The crummy title the Mackems love so much is once again NOT theirs.
Given those of them larging it recently I thought I'd put that out there.
Just saying.
I though this was a thread all about me !!
Agree it's nothing to be proud of however the last few years we have been run as an advertising company and zero focus about ambition and they still finish below us when we are at our worst / imagine if we has a board who cared hey ?

Fellas, lets not be kidded by the mackems, they would love it, ****ing love it, it they had finished above us.

Not really, i thought we were dead and buried just about 3-4 weeks ago, so for the season to end the way it has? I would have took somebodies arm off. Finishing above Newcastle would have been an added minor bonus which would have raised a smirk for about 5 minutes but then would have been replaced by anguish that my club (and yours i suspect) will probably have to start from scratch, rebuild, and go through another uncertain season. I would feel quite sad if I felt the need to harp on if Sunderland sneaked a draw yesterday and would have felt embarrassed about any Sunderland fan who would have.

No matter how poor both teams have been this season, finishing above us would have been one more thing to lord it over us with.

Anyway, it's all we have at the moment as a comeback to you lot with! <laugh>

I won't change my mind about "top dog" status, meaningless unless you win something. Dorty is right though, a good portion would have been all over it had they have managed it. I remember last time...vaguely.

It won't matter soon, we'll be moving on to grander things now Mike is putting a massive wedge in and winning things <doh>

Aye Quentin but when you have very little you have to make good use of it. If Sunderland had finished above Newcastle four seasons in a row, I'm sure us toon fans would be reminded of that fact quite often.

We've heard Fat Mike speak about our golden future <ha ha> has Ellis Short spoke yet?

Get the niceties out the way, we were crap, Sunderland were worse.
But that doesn't matter, when it comes to being 'Top Dogs'.
Don't be conned into thinking otherwise.
Just ask Jack Colback this morning.

Ellis doesnt need to speak out and lie over the fact that we supporters know we have not got a golden future.

I can see where you're coming from. It's like one set of fans lording it over the other for having beaten the other's team 5 times in a row. Neither set of our fans would be so pathetic would they?

Oh, hang on a minute...

Aye but Fat Mikey means it this time <honestly>

I thought it was a desperate attempt to get the place rocking. Though fair play it might have contributed in a small way! I would have loved to have seen the reaction if Hull got an early goal mind. That would have been interesting! haha!

I think you'd find that the vast majority of fans didn't hear the interview until after the game had finished.

All fans have those that are pathetic, childish, stupid, hate filled etc...... just in order to wind their rivals up. Never been one to do that myself and will probably only indulge in it if we actually won something. Dont get me wrong, I take great delight when Newcastle are suffering, I enjoy the fallout, but I have never been one to rub noses into it, whether it be amongst friends or on a forum like this one. When people take the wummery too far I get so embarrassed. My focus is on Sunderland trials and tribulations and whilst I have an interest in Newcastles plight, it is merely a sideshow.
