Hold on just a second, Kyle?. Sir_Red, is there any chance that you could expand on that prediction? I was thinking maybe putting down some points totals to see how close the margins are?
I think it will be 2 distinct groups. I think a 3 horse race for title, with United always lagging a bit. And for 4th (as I said assumes current squads) a close run battle but Spurs always being that bit ahead. They've really strengthened this summer. You are looking bloody thin, you need some signings.
Chelsea city united spurs Liverpool Swansea hull city arsenal palace stoke my top 10 for this season lads.thoughts? edit: apologies, bottom 3 are the ones who will be relegated so really it is top 7 and bottom 3
If we don't make any major improvements, and btw, improvements doesn't mean signing unknown players after being given a trial, or signing a 19 year old Ginter....We will end up fighting for 4th again.
I think the keeper issue is just nuts. We can just do without blooding a new keeper this year. This is crazy talk. Just don't know where this whole keeper thing comes from. Fabianski is a decent back up. This is a total non-issue. At CB, as long as Vermaelen gets fit again we have Koscielney/Metersacker/Vermaelen/Sagna. I think an opportunity to strengthen is a good RB. I don't think Jenkinson is quite ready, but we are talking about backups here, not starters. I think Koscielney/Metersacker don't have to prove themselves to anyone. If anyone says they are not good enough then there is no point in talking to them. At LB we have Monreal/Gibbs who are fine. Midfield starters we have Wilshere/Arteta/Ramsey/Ox - I think that is light. Arteta is one player who we cant expect to get better, he may get worse. Wilshere hasn't proved himself there. Ox hasn't either. So here is another solid opportunity. CAM we have Wilshere/Cazorla/Rosicky - We are well set. Forwards we are light but part of me says that we have Sanogo, Giroud, Podolski and Walcott that all want to play CF. Can they all fail? We also have Cazorla to fill in on the flank. But this is where a versatile forward that can play wide or through the middle would help. So for me 3 players, a RB, a DM and a CF in that order of priority. But we are not desperate for any of them. If we only get 2/3 of them, I don't think it is a disaster or anything. If we don't win a cup and finish 4th - Wenger will leave - no question IMO.
I'm with Kyle's prediction, with current squads i'm going for: 1. Chelsea 2. Man City 3. Man U 4. Spurs 5. Arsenal 6. Swansea Spurs have done well to strengthen and they still have Bale in the meantime. We have signed no one of significant value. On paper Spurs have enough to clinch 4th but you never know, they might implode again. We will be hard to beat for 4th. 1 and 2 will be close and it depends how quick Pelligrini adapts to the Prem, his squad is the best on paper. 4 and 5 will be close.
I may be a Chelsea fan... but I can't see anyone beating City... Think they'll just pip us to it unfortunately. 1. City 2. Chelsea 3. Spurs 4. United 5. Arsenal 6. Liverpool 7. Swansea
If we don't buy anybody then I think we're going to struggle for fourth As things stand I'm going: City Chelsea Utd Arsenal Spurs Liverpool I have also noted that HIAG has got us down for 6th and his new wum bum chum MCHC or whatever his name is has got us down for 8th
If we get Suarez and Gustavo, will we be able to challenge? We have a good first team but are light squad wise.
