    We dont know that yet.

Two 1-0 wins puts us on 69 points with gd of +23

A 0-1 loss for leicester followed by a 4-0 win puts leicester in the cl on 69 points with gd of +24

Best result imo tomorrow is a draw followed up by another 2 draws on sunday :)

Then let our team fall over the line in 3rd.

lets hope that Spurs have skin in the game on the last day <ok>

2 wins is till a tough one for us. Like you said, we’re running on empty, with bare bones of a squad. I’d take 2 wins if any type and see what happens.

I'd prefer Chelsea to finish the season with five straight losses... two down, three to go!

Have to don't we. It'd be amazing to get that much done.

It would be 8-2-0 run of form for the final 10 games after a run of 3-1-8 over the prior 12. that form really shows the DISASTER that we had. absolutely disastrous. give us 12 points over where we are today and we would have been 2nd.

    anyway

    upload_2021-5-17_11-7-24.png

thats the reality. Despite the complete lack of faith and knocks people took we are BACK (ish)

I was there in block 4 saying we were not right and getting told i was stupid and negative. I'm here saying we are doing ok and getting told we've no chance.

We had a few slices of luck in that run with opponents losing but also our own games where on another day we concede 2 or 3. But here we are.

Our form is better now that it had been when we were top of the league. we have 2 games left.

form now means nothing however, its about will and delivering. We are probably down to 12/13 players and need to win two bottom half games to take 4th.

    Alisson
    trent
    robertson
    Phillips
    williams (no word on kabak)
    Fabinho
    wijnaldum
    thiago
    Mane
    firmino
    Salah

and then jones and ox and milner maybe as subs (shaqiri was awful yesterday)

Wither its good enough or its not. There is no point is saying we should be 2nd as we are where we are now. 2 wins to save some semblance of something.

BUT irrespective if we are unbeaten or end up 5th we are still seeing a run of form that gives hope to build upon next season. I would rather have a bit of momentum going forward than being awful and hoping to turn it round like spurs were 2 seasons ago.

Indeed, it’s nice to see a few results, even if we have to huff and puff against the deeper defending teams.

2 games left and we could finish anywhere between 3rd and 7th and for the most part it’s in our own hands with solid form heading into them. I’d have bitten your arm off for that a few weeks ago. I have to say though that given who we have had to play at CB for nearly the entire season, qualifying for CL would be a massive bonus. Thank god that Klopp stopped playing Fab at CB!

Like Klopp said recently any success or failure we have regarding the CL qualification has been/is entirely in our own hands. We win the last 2 we qualify barring some extremely freakish result from Leicester. Simply not going to happen.

Having said that, had we not thrown away the points against Leeds and especially Newcastle, we would have virtually qualified by now.

think Leicester win. Then a draw. Then chelsea win are prob the best results to hope for.

yes we need to win our games, but Leicester win means we can afford a draw and then battle it out on final day still.

Agreed. Plus I'd much rather Chelsea miss out :)

(they've got a second chance but hopefully Man City smash them in the CL final too)

Me too - would be funny given that they were crowing about their season only 2 weeks ago. Funny ol’ game <laugh>

saying that, I think Leicester are fooked - have issues at CB and don’t have the depth of squad as Chelsea so I can only see a chelsea win tomorrow. Unfortunately.

Not really. Win our game tonight which we should, it will just be matching Leicester or do better than Chelsea if they lose on last day.

Chelsea lose, we qualify with a draw no matter what Leicester do. If Chelsea draws then we get third with a win. Otherwise matching Leicester’s result gets us 4th.

That’s why the bookies are putting us as overwhelming favourites to get CL ahead of Leicester who seemed destined to lose out in the last week yet again.

We need to win 2. To keep control of things thats the only route, anything else trusts to luck.

The first step is win tonight. If we don't then all this nice long shot stuff starts to come into play on the final day.

Brendan Rodgers needs a slap. He has IMO ruined all his good work by allowing players off on a jolly on saturday night and they were blowing all game v chelsea who just can't score any more than we can.

Cheslea did the usual thing which is fall back under mr negative on the touchline and let leicester have a goal. they could have won by 3 or 4 minimum but chose instead to sit off. hopefully this comes back to bite them big time in the CL final, it is a terrible habit.

2nd is now done, man utd absolutely fell over that line so their last game is now meaningless but tonight's games will decide an awful lot:

3rd and 4th are between 3 teams. only chelsea can qualify tonight for CL if LFC lose. But they could be confirmed

6th to 8th is between 3 teams really. West ham and Spurs are in a dogfight with everton. Theres a 6th place prize and a 7th placed booby trap. leeds can get 8th but does that matter?
I would rather be a failure like everton and not go to the conference league than end up 7th.

So 6th has a europa spot thats the prize. Spurs can have it with two wins. This is critical for us, if west ham win tonight then spurs must do so.

Finally If LFC win tonight the worst we can get is 5th and europa group phase.

Everton v Wolves (lose to stay in 8th)
Spurs v villa (win to avoid 7th)
Burnley v Liverpool (win for 4th place and to assure europa)
West Brom v West Ham (win to avoid 7th or lose to try get out of europe at all)

    Updated op again.

    One last time to go.

5th is now the worst we can get.

West ham only need a point for 6th.

Spurs have managed to create a scenario where they need to win just to get to the crappy 3rd tier new tournament, even a draw and everton can take that slot bit play the champions elect at a title party game.

Leicester need a big win or liverpool to lose or draw.

Chelsea wont be sure of 4th unless they win.
