Weakest most inexperienced set of officials in the league
    Easy to manipulate
    They'll go far

    Referee: John Brooks.
    Assistants: Matthew Wilkes, Eddie Smart.
    Fourth official: Darren England.
    VAR: Robert Jones.
    Assistant VAR: Natalie Aspinall.

As far as I could see he was not in an offside position when the ball was played to him. He certainly was in an an offside position during the move but got himself back onside and then turned, so he was no longer coming back from an offside position, and then the ball was played to him and he scored.

With Longstaff he was still in an offside position when the ball hit him. Question was whether those were deliberate attempts to play the ball by the Forest defenders (which one clearly was) or deflections of the original pass/shot from the Newcastle player.

Except that the two incidents were not comparable so not sure why you are trying to compare them -which was my point.

I saw one or two on here during the West Ham game saying "The ref is really against us." But I thought Newcastle were getting EVERYTHING almost every Hammer attack ended in a foul in our favour, Pope was taking ages to kick the ****ing ball.

It must be nerves speaking because I cannot fathom how you could leave that West Ham game and genuinely think Newcastle were punished by the ref or there is an agenda against us.

Agreed but if you think we are bad you should read through a Sunderland matchday thread. In League 1 the refs were all biased against them because they were a big team. Now they just always get the worst ones assigned to their games who are funnily enough always favouring the opposition.

I am banned from their board so, er, that's not gonna happen.

My incognito mode only allows me to see their tears regarding our position.

I think the same mate. Refs are being quite lenient towards us. But it could just be because we see more of the ball and we control games more now.

Plus we don’t have idiots in the team making stupid tackles.

I think it's this, but we also play smarter and play the ref now. It cannot be denied we fall over a lot, strategic fouls and the like.

Its part of the game at the end of day. Felt under Bruce we were happy to just get slapped about because "that's our place"

It was interesting listening to Murphy and Longstaff interview when they asked them about Murphy’s infield antics. The wave at Southampton, checking his watch etc. He actually said that although it’s just spur of the moment stuff in those cases, part of challenging the top teams is learning to get in their faces and manage the game better (time waste).

We certainly are doing that better now.

Wanting Everton to win is a strange experience once never mind two games in a row.

Indeed. Strange, but I guess whatever happens it's a win/win for us.

Either Manure drop points, or Everton stick to the relegation battle, or maybe even both with a draw.

Tbh if Newcastle win the other results can't really be bad. Newcastle need to not be the club that it has been when push comes to shove.

    Everton will get hammered.

It’s a win win that game.

    Everton win would be great.
Manu smashing them would also be great.
