Out of interest, why are you anti 'now' Swords. Do you think we should have kept Harry then?

Good post mate. What I will say, however is that despite the increased TV money there will still be three slots available every season.

For some reason, part of Danish's post has been attributed to me on your reply TIME.

I am not anti "now" as in the present tense. I've nothing against the present tense. I live my life in the present tense (apart from when I've consumed alcohol)

I'm anti-Tony........now as opposed to before

Strange how 90% of the votes so far are 'pro' and yet nearly all the commentary is negative. The silent majority clearly still like the bloke (as I do). The more verbal minority need a wicker man for some reason. The acid test for me is to ask yourself the question: apart from the no-limits types at the scum and City would you chosen someone else to try to get us success? There are dozens of businessmen who have failed in football of course.

I'm not all that concerned about "success". If there were a way of keeping the club alive and stable but low-key (i.e. inhabiting the second tier or below with maybe just the occasional short spell in the top flight), I'd be up for that. Never any real risk of going out of business but not much chance of glamour either. A team of honest triers glad to have the chance to earn a living playing the game. Same old faces in the crown going to games. It'd work for me. But I'm a dinosaur.

Fair point and judging by how the vote is turning out I can't see a Tony revolt happening anytime soon tbh. I have not started this thread to cause any trouble.

Mmm......................I get both sides of the argument here.
If I was going to the games on my own, I think I'd be reasonably happy with the Championship on the whole.
However, as much as my lad is a Rangers fan through and through, he is young enough to really enjoy seeing some of the best players in the World right in front of him on the pitch.

Even I can get enjoyment from watching the likes of Sanchez up close, as much as I want us to win the game.

I wonder would we have seen a different ratio if the question was about his actions rather than his likeability, as in
"Do you like what he has done to QPR?"

He is undoubtedly a likeable individual, but I'm certain that he should not be allowed to jeopardise our future existence in the way he has.

i'm in the pro group, i believe TF wants the best for our club and will work towards where we want to be, he needs to get off twatter and be true to his word, i can accept relegation if we take a different approach, go down the giving the youngsters a go route mixed with some added quality even if it takes a couple of years to return, work diligently towards the new training ground as a priority and eventually the new stadium.

Very well generalized, why thank you -
You perhaps need to phrase the question you have put to us nay sayers with a smidgen of direction - the only option provided is Abramovich, Qataris or their ilk or someone else. You have also followed that up with a statement on failed football projects by a substantial amount of businessmen. Are you implying that Fernandes has done a good job during his tenure?
Perhaps you could ask yourself and in turn answer the following:

Did Fernandes take over the club with debt?
Where were we as a club then?
What is the overall debt of the club now?
Where are we as a club now?

Do you believe that Fernandes has shown any aptitude for successfully turning this burning platform around?

I don't want him to lose yet more money and I'd rather he set his ambitions with a realistic vision, one that doesn't include continuous wastage on piss poor people masquerading as football professionals.

I think relegation is almost inevitable for us now which will really reflect what TF feels about the club

I voted Anti, purely based on the facts that he's set to take us down twice in 3 seasons.

Another squad rebuild job is on the cards, and we seemingly can't get it right when it comes to building a squad which gets you out the Championship but also gives you a solid footing in the Premiership itself.

Decision Number 1 is the Manager, do we go with Ramsey or do we pouch someone else (possibly Karl Robinson from MK Dons?)

Decision Number 2 is the playing squad:

    Staying
Alex McCarthy, Nedum Onouha, Jack Robinson, Steven Caulker (with a rocket sent up him to sort his defending out), Darnell Furlong, Faurlin, Matt Phillips. All Youth team players (Doughty, Ehmer etc to be assessed or released)

    Leaving
Austin - a MINIMUM of £15 million (The Remy mistake will not be repeated)
    Fer - £8 million
    Sandro - £10-5 million
Hoillet - Whatever you can get
Yun - Whatever you can get
Taarabt - Whatever you can get
    Bobby Zamora
    Rio Ferdinand
    Joey Barton
    Richard Dunne
    Clint Hill
    SWP
    Armand Traore

    Back to parent club
    Isla, Vargas, Kranjcar, Zarate

You should have made a middle choice. I'm sceptical but think his mistakes from naivity and childishness rather than bad will.

I actually resent what he's done since he came to us. I hold him largely responsible but can't feel hate for him as he doesn't seem a bad person. I am willing to see if he has FINALLY learned and will now steady the ship for once.

I'm implying that despite the failures TF is enthusiastic about football and our club in particular and that, along with the other backers, he has pumped millions of his own money into our club in an attempt to bring it success (£60m recently written off). Yes there have been cock-ups aplenty (Philip Beard please take a bow) but other than having a magic wand that guarantees success or being one of those backers with truly unlimited funds it's hard to imagine a better type of owner for a smallish football club. We should ask Blackburn Rovers or Birmingham City supporters about owners to get some perspective.

Moreover, football finances move on apace and there is no going back to the good old days. If we revert to the realms of small well-run club as many proselytize we will likely find that the natural order of things now has us in League 1 or 2 rather than the upper reaches of the Championship which is crowded with much bigger fish than QPR. London is the attraction of course but we could just as easily be Leyton Orient than West Ham.

And your last paragraph is my point, we actually had a chance of being a Swansea, a Fulham of The last 10 years.
We had a chance, we've as a club now lost our owners 250 Mill. The chance is disappearing fast, and it definitely didn't need to go this way. Typical us, The one time we won The lottery, we blew it like a drunken, drug azzled lunatic on acid. Who in their right mind would pick us up if they just leave writing off their " opulent housing feasibility study?"

The biggest thing would be not learning from his obvious mistakes the first time round. His running of the Club was terrible the first time round but because he's such a nice bloke people were prepared to let it go. He said he'd learned but once we got ourselves back up, the first thing he did was sanction the signing of Rio phucking Ferdinand! A blind man could see how bad a signing that was going to be yet he went ahead anyway.

His constant bullsh*t on Twitter has worn me down too. Initially it was endearing but its now apparent that having a Chairman who can't stay out of the spotlight for more than five minutes is a weight around our necks. His handling of the Redknapp situation was very bad too. Sacking him the moment the window closed (he was obviously pushed) couldn't possibly be timed any worse.

In short, at the start of the season I was full of optimism that it was a new start and a new way of doing things. But at the moment it looks like Tony has fu*ked it all up again. How could someone spend a quarter of a billion quid (c Danish) and still end up relegated to the Championsh*t??? He's a lovely chap but you can't honestly say that after three years you think the guy knows how to run a football club?

C'mon Jack, its time to look the facts square in the eye.

Don't know how to answer that - how can such a simplistic pro or anti most anything be possible? I like the cash and energy he has brought into our Club, but he has done a very bad job with his managerial appointments until CR's, and I don't see much real development on a new stadium or even the training ground.
