OK fair enough, the question could have been a little more decisive or have a 3rd jurys out option. Also sorry if posting this poll has annoyed anyone. I only post on this QPR forum but often look at many other QPR forums to see what people are saying. I'm often surprised how general opinion on all things QPR related can differ so much depending on which forum you are reading. This is a rerun of pretty much the same question asked a couple of weeks back on the WATRBS forum. Being curious I just wanted to see if the poll would be any different on this site. Despite my going on record and saying I'm still pro tony this could change in a years time. I'm not stubbornly opinionated and won't pretend to be an expert on how a football club should be run. Also despite being pro Tony I respect and also share many of the concerns of anyone who is not happy with how our club is being run. I would never disrespect or shout down anyone for having a different stance than my own. In the spirit of fairness I have PM'ed QPR999 and told him to close this thread if it seems inappropriate. The one thing this thread has done like it or not is give us another talking point where we can discuss our views on how our club is being run. Thats what we are all here for so please carry on.
That's a jolly good post Swords. I think some of the backlash is down to the fact that many of us, me definitely included, were big supporters of our Tone for the first couple of years. He was new, engaging, put his money where his mouth is, painted a picture of a shiny, bright future, albeit a bit of a plasticky one. But every single gamble has failed. His latest is appointing Les Ferdinand as boss of everything. Now I feel something of a fool for getting all excited.
I'm afraid I'm now in the 'anti' camp. The loss reported last week has to be the nadir of his near four-year tenure. To include a £60 million write-off because of FFP is frankly taking the piss, the man has lost all credibility in my eyes. In two years of mind-numbingly shyte football we've pissed £135 million into the wind, just take a minute and think about that - £135 million. Whatever his intentions that is the action of a madman, not a responsible company chairman. The only reason you lot are still pro- TF is you can't face the awful consequences if he does pull the plug. At least if we do go bankrupt it'll be the biggest ever, another unwanted record...
A very good post. I guess I'm still pro due to a wait and see approach very much hinged on the promised new training facilities. I have read quite a few posts from various forum members on this and other forums which seem to give a general spin that this will happen. It's clear to see that we as a club have made enquiries and had planning approved for Warren Farm. I do appreciate why people are fed up now and taking a put your money where your mouth is/actions speak louder than words approach. It could indeed go two ways, our current board have committed too much money to walk away now or a cut our losses and run senario. The latter one being a lot of peoples concerns right now I guess.
I agree with all of that apart from the use of the word "intermittent", which I believe is superfluous.
15/16 years out of the premier league . I'd say we've come along way since playing in the championship/ Div 1. I'm sure most would agree that if we are to go down at the end of the season I'd feel more confident us coming straight back up. That isn't how I felt when we last went down.
Big Tone may be somewhat naive in the football department, which I assume is why he has brought in Sir Les. But you can't deny he lives & breathes QPR
Oh, I thought I was responding to the suggestion that the club has come a long way since the arrival of Fernandes and co. on the scene. My mistake.
How can anyone be anti TF, beats me. Who do you want instead, someone like Tan or an owner who comes every blue moon.
I voted pro. At least he cares. Can't say that about flavio and co. So the guy has made mistakes, he who cast the first stone.
Lovely bloke but not savy Lost a load of respect for him over his exposure in the media about the stadium
What makes you think I disagree mate? I was just interested on your reasoning and you make your case well mate.
Yes it was similar apart from the fact it used different words which have different meanings I always have loved Mark he was so gentle with me around lambing time
