From what I've heard Eaves will not be leaving. He wasn't involved yesterday because he was ill apparently. That means I've not heard anything to suggest that he is.

According to the Yorkshire post…not exactly our kid !!!

Tom Eaves has just been unlucky, what he needs is a good run of games to get the best out of him, and because of Magennis form, he just hasn't had that chance. I am not saying he would be a world beater, but I am sure he would be a lot better than what he has shown up to now.

Regan Slater when he was just coming on for the last 20 minutes looked okay, but nothing startling, but once he got a run of games, because others were injured, we started to see a much better player.

Players need a run of games and to overly criticise them when they get the odd 20 minutes here and there, is unfair IMO.

He's played 69 league games (79 appearances in total) scoring 9 goals. 1 goal per 7.7 games. He was (for some strange reason) McCann's preferred starter for a long period. He's also 29, not some young developing lad.
I kept wishing he would come good. But he didn't. He's just not good enough.
I'd love for him to eat my words, but it ain't going to happen.

In 2019/20 he started 22 league games, only six players started more games than him that season.

As I said, he is no world beater, and the Championship is probably a step too far for him. Last season was probably when he needed the run of games to get his confidence back, but it didn't happen for him.

I just feel some of the comments, particularly on Twitter are rather harsh.

Tom Eaves is of more value to us as squad member then he would be loaned out to another club. We are not exactly over blessed with strikers at the moment.
Twitter is full of faceless bastards.

I was amazed and somewhat staggered when I read suggestions that other clubs were sniffing around for big Tom given his form while here, I can only think it was lower end league 1 and 2 teams who hoped we pay the majority of his wages.

Where did you get this from B, surprised to hear it
