Not to be 'that guy' but even I was warning some of your lot that they were asking for trouble going into that slime-swamp to be keyboard warriors... it's hardly a suprise that Tash was 'known' in GC.

I personally get on quite well with quite a few of them. Some are a bit spiky but most are fine if you are not of a sensitive disposition. They like to joke about things and sometimes they go overboard and can be a bit sick. But its only a ****ing internet forum and you don't have to read it! They actually have some really interesting debates on religion, current affairs etc. They have had me pissing myself on many occasions with their humour. Now and again some PC ****er will try and moan about stupid things and they'll just go off on one which is the GC most talk about.

Don't have any problem at all with folk making jokes about Speed. As I say its part and parcel of life whether people like it or not. It was essentially caused by what I see as overly PC people moaning about Speed jokes I suppose. I dread to think what they think of South Park!!

You're one of the few folks I've heard who has shown constency here because a lot of folks are okay being politically incorrect until it touches something personal to them... to the point that they fully participated in some pretty sick stuff but then couldn't face it when the sick stuff came to visit.

As it happens I could be considered a 'PC ****er' I suppose in that I cannot abide racism, sexism or homophobia BUT I also wouldn't go to a BNP rally and start to try to convert them... and I wouldn't go onto GC and try to change the way things are conducted on there. I also believe that although teh term 'PC' is now used as a pejorative term I just see it as essentially 'being polite'. And I am very polite you filthy Mag scumbaggy twat (:emoticon-0105-wink:) .

Don't you think South Park has lost it's edge lately? It hardly even shocks the wife these days.

They ran out of offensive material some time ago. Once you've touched all the various hotpoints, where do you go? The picking on celebrities AGAIN? I think its just run its course. Due to the subjects they make humour from, they essentially have an endless list of subjects to pick from. But if it is not striking a chord anymore then its best left. I used to love it when it first came out but I can honestly say I haven't bothered for years.

Very few things shock or offend me. I think I just see a difference in actually BEING racist, sexist or otherwise, as opposed to making jokes about it. Of course I think there are jokes that are borne purely out of hatred which is not acceptable, and others that simply mock the way the world views a certain subject. The folk who annoy me is the ones who preach zero tolerance and think you shouldn't even make light of how the world views a subject, or in the case of Speed, find jokes about dead people unacceptable. Particularly the ones who have laughed at such jokes until it is someone they like!

This could be the most sensible post I have ever seen from a Mag. <ok>

One of my biggest bugbears in life are people who make jokes about things that aren't personal to them, then go all hypocritical when it gets near home.

People were trying to even justify their whining by saying well Speed deserved respect, Winehouse didn't. there is not one jot of difference. It was hypocrisy for me. Of course GC being like they didn't like being told that they couldn't post jokes about stuff and the war began, ending with our regulars jumping ship.

Obviously the cross board stuff got out of hand and there were unacceptable images posted in terms of work etc, but I have to say a good deal was brought on by people looking for places and things to get offended at. I personally have no problem with people making jokes about dead people. Its part and parcel of life and there are many much loved comedians who live on dead people jokes.

Did I pass on jokes or make jokes about Speed? No he was a legend to me who I was lucky to meet but I accept he wasn't to everyone. So just like when I pissed myself at Winehouse and Jacko jokes, I accept why people do make jokes. Anyway many posters who left say GC was only a small part of it and it was really that the Toon Not606 lot had simply outgrown not606 and needed its own site.

Don't get me wrong either I like the lads the who left. They were all good posters and excellent crack for football. I wouldn't have come to this site if it wasn't for many of them because they were the lads I knew on the old 606. I just disagreed with the uproar over Speed.

One of the reasons I couldn't just dump 606 is the input from other teams. The derby build up always raises a laugh from both sides as the gentle warfare begins. I love seeing the proper bites from both sides as the emotion starts to boil. Its going to be a cracker this year in terms of tension, particularly if we can get our game back up to scratch. We've been patchy of late so hopefully Wolves will put us straight.
