You can normally tell how good a player is by the calibre of clubs sniffing around them. So the fact the likes of Chelsea and Man Utd have been looking at Cheick pretty much self explains how good he is. I don't know if I missed it or not but Lee Cattermole seems to be rather less sought after.....

Everyone left because of stuff like that that GC posted on our board. At one point the board was flooded with pics of tentacle porn , animal porn , pictures mocking Speed's deaths etc. and often nothing could be done about it as it was a cross board thread.
So understandably people said enough was enough and decided to leave as it kept on happening time and time again with the culprits continuously getting away with it.
So yea.
I had no idea mate.

I forgot about the tentacle porn thing. It was a thread someone started with an innocuous name and when you opened it there were the most inappropriate pictures you could imagine (not that you would want to). Luckily i wasn't at work (I'm a teacher so it really wouldn't have gone down well!!) when i opened it.
Its the rare nobhead who's like that though. I'm not planning on heading off to a toon-only website, don't think it would be half as interesting to be honest. Do feel a touch outnumbered nowadays though!!!

As always theres two side to every story mate. You have to remember that some of our lot went to the general board to complain about jokes etc being posted around the time of Speeds death. Now you may or may not find that a sensitive subject but the bottom line is GC has been like that for a long time and all of our lot were saying they never went on there because of how GC are. So why go looking to be offended? None of our supporters went crying about the Amy Winehouse stuff they posted or the other dead celebs. People were trying to even justify their whining by saying well Speed deserved respect, Winehouse didn't. there is not one jot of difference. It was hypocrisy for me. Of course GC being like they didn't like being told that they couldn't post jokes about stuff and the war began, ending with our regulars jumping ship.
Obviously the cross board stuff got out of hand and there were unacceptable images posted in terms of work etc, but I have to say a good deal was brought on by people looking for places and things to get offended at. I personally have no problem with people making jokes about dead people. Its part and parcel of life and there are many much loved comedians who live on dead people jokes.
Did I pass on jokes or make jokes about Speed? No he was a legend to me who I was lucky to meet but I accept he wasn't to everyone. So just like when I pissed myself at Winehouse and Jacko jokes, I accept why people do make jokes. Anyway many posters who left say GC was only a small part of it and it was really that the Toon Not606 lot had simply outgrown not606 and needed its own site.
There was a lesson to be learned, don't prod the monster if you don't want him to wake up!
