I'm sorry he may not have played much but to make a basic mistake such as not closing his legs and get his body behind the ball is inexcusable , Bart is a professional footballer not someone who plays Sunday league
With regards to loan you can bring a keeper in as it is a specialist position and the fact we had no keeper on the bench is a good enough reason to get someone in

Nervs would make even a pro do something he shouldn't do.

I reckon the Football League, upon being told our main GK is injured and our back up is a complete twonk, would not take too kindly to our request for an emergency Loan. (I just want to make it clear that I wasn't insinuating that Bart was a twonk!)

To be frank, I genuinely wondered whether Bart was trying to protect a dodgy finger or something. He has done alright in the cup games for us, but he was so tentative today, trying to chest balls down, etc. do we have another keeper available? There was none on the bench. I honestly don't think that nerves are the only reason here, he looked out of sorts from the off.

we have forecast and dovey but they are both out on loan

Dovey's back from loan spell with Eastleigh, Forecast still at Bromley. Wouldn't suprise me if NA brings in a new keeper in the near future, Bart's got to be loaned out now to get some games for his own good.

dovey played for eastleigh today so he isnt back - he just trains with us in the week due to eastleigh not training daily

I thought about this post as well...and admit that I thought that Bart was the man back then...happy to have been proved wrong....Humple Pie for breakfast!

Question is how would Bart have coped under the intensity of that kind of pressure the thought scares me

That's the fascinating thing about football...on balance he may not have cope at all well...however he has in the past proved to be a shot-stopper so who knows a great save may have inspired him to an outstanding performance...that's why I'm reluctant to crucify him or anyother player (except Beckham)

Hypothetical of course but if Bart had been selected, wouldn't NA have set out the defence to give him more protection, would that have reduced our ability to attack? Who knows. We won that's all I care about at the moment, I am now worrying about the next game, our opponents are no mugs and are on a good run. In NA we trust, we cannot rely on luck, I think we used our quota already.

Bart has played a couple of cup games since 'the incident' and he wasn't as awful again. He was a late replacement for SKD and his nerves were shot...not right for a professional footballer as he should have risen to the occasion. We are probably the wrong team for his development. Expectations are so high, price of defeat so massive...he may have developed better in a another side where he got more matches.
