I think a sort of collective hysteria has gripped this thread. A lot of big mountains are being made out of little mole-hills.
(I'm not singling you out, Gelli, it was just convenient to quote the last post on the subject)

The suggestion of an LFC only thread is not unreasonable. I'm not particularly bothered myself, but it's hardly going to bring the principles of free-speech crashing down around our ears.
As for modding, I'm not having a go, but isn't that what mods are for? We all want an easy ride, but if anyone takes on the job then they have to be prepared to do their best.
Again, I'm not suggesting anyone is not pulling their weight, just discussing it in principle.
I think Jenners was a bit hard done by getting clubbed because he suggested it.

It's a pity we all don't have some control (and therefore responsibility) over our own threads like on the Beeb, and that would take some of the weight off the mods.

Anyway, I thought the Pub thread was mostly louse-free?

Ahhh, so to clarify, mine was deleted because:

1)I called him a lot of things (points to dozens of like posts on this thread not deleted)

2) As I said to Gerrez, the topic had already been raised by Sisu, and engaged back and forth by Dave and Tobes and in fact Gerrez himself in the middle I believe. Yet only one post deleted. Could even have possibly understood if my post had come some time after the others but it doesn't. Could even understand if my post had just come after a warning by you but it didn't. Whether intentionally or unintentionally you silenced only one person's view. Too Arbitrary, not logical, Not on.

I'm happy to trial any reasonable suggestion. I don't agree about having a LFC Only zone but can't see a reason to just cast it aside either. My concerns are more around how it would be monitored and how can we be sure a poster is a LFC fan? Maybe they need to have made twenty comments before being allowed to participate? This gives us a platform to change a newbie put that also isolates them too.

His user name is a conflation of Liverpool-Toronto I believe.
Toronto is in Ontario, but I don't think it has much of a F-C contingent.
I could be wrong.

Lol I'm assuming that's a stir T, but actually, like the others I think Mito has done a good job as mod. Doesn't mean he can't make a mistake and it doesn't mean I'm not going to call him on it.

As I said, not disagreeing with his motive, just his uneven application.

Fair enough but in light of the abuse us mods are getting here anyway, maybe a little bit of slack would be nice

Just a joke mate and I wasn't having a pop at you either, if you want to call him on it fine, but I think they've collectively taken a few low blows in the last 48 hrs tbf, so if the trigger finger is a bit twitchy I can't say I blame them

On the subject of modding in general, I post on GOT - the biggest Everton forum and it's very, very strict in terms of the rules and enforcing them. Most of the posters in this thread would have had a site ban (anywhere between a week and permanent) for their part in this thread.

JB - start a thread with a poll and see what peopl want. I don't think we need a thread just for LFC fans but if 90% o the board think it's a good idea hen go ahead. How you manage that is up to you because we can't physically stop people posting and only way to do it would be for a mod to go through and delete every post by a non LFC fan - something I don't think would be possible given we can't mod the board the whole day every day

There's loads of reds on there already, many incognito - they always out themselves in the end though, but a few who are openly reds (as well as plenty of fans from other clubs). All are welcome, it's a brilliant site tbf.

Oh and only the 1 week ban so far
