South Shields.. Home be SR6
He's been released.

He's left footed, and can play wide left.

He's a German international.

He's a good passer & crosser.

He can shoot like a motherfucker.

He wants to stay in England.

He'll expect reasonable wages.

At 29, has 3 or 4 good years left in him.

Is this not the most logical move in the history of football for us?

Yes, would be a good solid addition. Excluding Gyan, we have an unproven strikeforce at this level so we may be very dependant on goals from midfield. He is a player who always seems to contribute with this.

Agreeed.

Natural width as well, and can even play left back if required.

If we had him and Larsson on opposite sides, you'd expect something every time we got a free kick on the edge of the area.

Sunderland sign a left winger? I've been led to believe this is the opposite of logic!

Would take him on a free though, very good player surprised he hasn't been signed yet.

He's a great player, but although left footed I always thought he was a CM?

Wouldnt it be just as logical for Colback or Vaughan to play there if this is the way Bruce is going to go?

He has predominantly played CM, but he's played out left quite a bit, bear in mind Colback & Vaughan never play there, Vaughan self confessed he is cack there!

He's been trusted to play left mid for Germany on occasions, so he must be capable in the role, surely?

He would add strength, balance, set peice delivery & maybe 4/5 goals so I would definately consider him if I was Brucey, however I hope he is still looking at better players but the Hitz does offer good value for money.

That's a lot he's offering though mate ;)

Of course i'd prefer a Johnson type proper winger, i just want a lefty on the left!

Saw he'd been released and thought it was a good fit

I'm sure someone can help me out here, remembering ages how many do we have of our 25 man squad so how many more can we add? I'm honestly not sure.

Vaughan is about as much of a left winger as Cattermole is a right winger.

not for me 2bh

decent player but not the type of player we need

we need someone with blistering pace with a trick or two, so we have an outlet to go back to front in a flash

not many players out there like this but there is a couple

Barnetta at Leverkusen, Guardado at Deportivo

He was on £42 grand a week at the Hammers maybe thats why he's been released. Surely he'd be looking for similar wages..I think we could get a better option in for that kind of wage

Surely Guardado is available, Depor were in financial trouble BEFORE they got relegated, they must be desperate now.

I think the chances of us signing another midfield player are low. This lad has always looked like a good player to me but he's been hampered with a lot of injuries in recent seasons which is why he didn't end up somewhere better than W Ham. Apparently Wolves and QPR (IIRC) are after him.

Not good enough, no better than the players we have. if another midfielder is to come they have to be special or an out and out winger with pace and creativity. If money is tight, I would rather focus on a player that is either an attacking midfielder or striker, or even better can play in both roles .................. like Aaron Hunt (Werder Bremen)!!!
