The Italians have some cracking football kits, don't they? :)

...The Italians have some cracking football kits, don't they? :)

Was it Michael Palin who first suggested that whatever the average Italian male wears, he'll make it look cooler than it should, and cooler than if you're wearing something worth a million dollars. Something like that, anyway. I'm paraphrasing from his Around the World in 80 Days trip.

Do I think it's true..? Well Yes and No. My opinion is though, is that if you have reasonable features, have been brought up like I know an Italian male might typically be brought up, these days, you are confident, tanned, and you've looked in the mirror often enough to make sure you look your best. So, yes, on balance, an Italian male is going to make the most of a football kit. And if it's a good looking one..? There you go. :)

Ramirez got a flukey assist, controlled the ball with his chest and on the turn put a low ball across goal for stuani to tap home. He was playing on the left in a fairly attacking role, didn't do much else, put in another good cross and won the ball back once that was about it although I didn't see him come on and only realised he had come on when I saw him celebrate cavani's header. He looked good when he did get involved.

Don't hold your breath. It'll be as bitty with more time wasting and niggle

Maybe. But I do expect to see the occasional passage of play where more than 3 passes are strung together, at least by the home side, if not both. A similar scoreline wouldn't be too much of a surprise though.

And here is Artur conceding a goal to San Marino

Clarkson once said "to be born Italian and male is to win the lottery of life."
