This week five years ago...

It really is crazy how well we started that season. I'm definitely more confident with the team now then I was back then.

Andy's list highlights what a crap decade Coventry have had. Not quite as bad as Pompey in recent years but not far off

What about Bradford? Charlton? Derby? Leeds? Ipswich? Us?

Other than Bradford, they're all Championship clubs, so are all potentially less than a season away from the top flight.

I'm not saying we're not back on the right track. But all of those clubs have spent time in League 1.

Obviously this doesn't compare to Bradford in terms of a drop, or yourselves and Swansea in terms of a rise. But i'm just showing how much football changes and how quickly.

Some spent longer than others in League 1 - Didn't Leicester bounce back in 1 season? - while TWS took 4 years to get back to Championship level :D. I remember Man City and Sunderland spending a season in the 3rd tier in the mid 1990's I think

I agree. That season it felt like we were playing above ourselves. This season I feel far more confident that we will not see a major drop off like we did that year.

No one said that at the time though. While we were flying everyone was confident like they are now, if we were to suffer a slump this season everyone would say they knew we were playing above our level all along...

Was it about this same time that brownie was getting interviewed and answering questions about one day being England manager? Remember the interview on the steps of the north stand at BP. :-)

I was saying that at the time and all the PL and city fans I knew were also were saying the same thing. Everyone I know this time around thinks we are playing at our ability not above it. Granted no one I know actually goes to more than one game a year and they just watch them on TV.
