Anyway back to the football will city or Cardiff finish highest.

For me we need our injured players back, and we require a out and out goalscorer, and a attack minded midfielder.
Then we could get the second spot.
Even if we beat Wolves Saturday I still reckon they will finish top.

Aye, as you say RR, back to the football. <sigh>

There's still nothing in it and despite Wolves opening a decent gap, they're no where near over the line - yet. I'm sure the second half of the season will see some more twists and turns.

Not everything will depend on this January transfer window but it could throw up a few surprises. The clubs near contention who have the dosh available will spend it and there could be some shuffling about in that top 6 quite apart from those just outside like Middlesbrough, Villa and Fulham who are far from finished this season.

As to which of us two will finish higher or even top 2 for that matter is pure conjecture - but there again that's what a chat forum is all about.

Two home games for us both - we've got our bogey team Preston tonight and it's on the box - then you take on Wolves tomorrow also on the box. I'll be there tonight and watching you lot tomorrow. You know pal, I really don't know who I want to win that one between you.:emoticon-0105-wink:

I was going to ask your lot that! I guess it's a win-win/lose-lose situation, though I think the majority of neutrals will want us to help reel them in a bit.

Nick - that's a real difficult one to answer for us. No doubt about who you lot will be cheering for tonight...<laugh>

Though no one match will decide anything, I think the attitude could vary after our result tonight. If we lose for the 3rd time on the trot to Preston then I think most of us will be wanting Wolves to win to keep you lot back.

On the other hand, if we beat Preston then I think we might just switch the support to you.

We've still got both you and Wolves to play at home so it could bounce back into our own court. If we draw tonight - fck knows....<laugh> :emoticon-0105-wink:

Preston has replaced Forest as our bogey side. They always seem to be able to beat us - and they are dark horses creeping up to the playoffs under the radar.
Cardiff seem to be having a bit of a wobble at the moment so I wouldn’t be surprised if Preston beat them.

Two games lost isn't necessarily enough to panic about, but three...

Big game for them, but the type of game that Warnock sides usually thrive in. An early goal for Preston might put the cat amongst the pigeons though and if they don't win, expect Warnock to say to the media that he needs backing in the January window.

Nick - he's already said it an it's been promised.

Rumours today about a 7Mill Euros bid for the Besiktas captain who's out of contract in the summer with Gunarsson going the other way. Probably a load of bollucks but something is going to happen on the transfer front for us - and it needs to whatever happens tonight.

Not sure about yourselves though the way your "team ethic" is working - you don't want that disrupted unless injuries are the driver.

Injuries have definitely hit us - we do have good depth, but that's being tested to its limits and the fear is that something's got to give soon.

There has been a policy of signing young players to develop over the past few years, and that picky-ness has probably help reduce any deadwood from accumulating. Being so picky means that I wouldn't be surprised if we saw zero permanent signings, though getting loans in offers the chance to take more of a punt, just to fill the numbers out.

I think you're on to something about the 'team ethic' - a large number of the squad have been together for a long time, grown up together and it maybe has resulted in a better understanding and unity which in turn maybe helps the team perform better than the sum of its parts. Rumours are that Tomlin became unpopular in the dressing room come the end of his time here, though that could just be sour grapes (the old 'I never fancied her anyway' reflex).

LJ has already stated any permanent purchases need to be the right player and the right mindset to buy into the already club way of thinking. All that along with the current wage structure as he don’t want others feeling hard done by. He said that does narrow the potential list of players available in this window.
As to the players unity I was in a restaurant last night where Josh Brownhill, Callum O’Dowda, Taylor Moore and another person were also dining. The other one I think could either be fringe player as I searched the website of player profiles and can’t find him or maybe a new signing? I don’t know. But they all looked to be having a good time together. Which sort of shows that they all hang round with each other. I can only compare when I saw JET years back surrounded with non football mates.

Where are all your fans tonight Sparky? At home or in the pub watching Sky?
Loads of empty seats.
You can hear the players and managers shouts echoing in the ground - it’s like a training session!!!

I have watched some ****e in my time but that was woeful..

Cardiff long ball **** in an almost empty stadium.

Bamba as good as Van Dyck?? Warnock must have dementia.

and Preston simply cheats, exactly the same as they were at Ashton Gate, when he rolled back on the pitch to waste time. I would be ashamed to have him as a team mate.

Thats 90 minutes of my life I won't get back!

I said that, if he cheats like that I don’t want him near our club. If Bailey Wright got 2 game ban he should get 6 months
