I'm nervous about that lineup i.e. Reid in midfield & Diony up front... hopefully it works...
No it did not work Nick.
Diony is a pony.
Reid non existent playing in midfield.

So you have come to a conclusion how we normally play based on watching us twice . .. says it all really.
I agree with that Redprintt and to be honest, I'd rather lose with the football we were playing before Christmas than to this lump and hope crap.I honestly can't believe how we set up and not surprised we lost.
Tell me I'm wrong, but I think we've won 1 in the last 14 games.
When did Fammy return and was it then we reverted to hitting the long ball ?
LJ has, by the strikers he's brought in ( Djuric, Engvall, Fammy and Diony) likes big men up top.
Yet we seemed better, played better football and won more games when they were injured/suspended with Reid leading from the front.
Amazed we played Warnock's game, and it's utter lamp oil to bemoan his 'style', we lost it's OUR fault.
Just remember that pre Christmas we played fantastic and successful football.
If it's not the return of Fammy and 'direct' football please tell me what the f**k has changed.
I'm just bumping this back up because that is 3 of us on the trot with differing visions of our team all saying the same thing, LJ please take note.Best team won on the day, league position and match result proves it, they played the way they wanted and it was our decision to respond in the way we did, we lost, they won, 3 points to them and we have got to move on and improve, no lame excuses.
i don’t think I have ever agreed wholeheartedly with any of your posts as passionately as I do this RP.I honestly can't believe how we set up and not surprised we lost.

If you had played it on the floor, like before Christmas, you probably would have had that Cardiff team on toast. Or at least a much better chance of winning than playing us at our own game. The teams we have struggled the most with are Fulham and Brentford who have passed rings around us.
Can't understand the complete change in style. Does LJ feel pressured to play that way based on the money he spent on the striker in January?

There may have been a thought that the conditions would've made a passing game difficult to pull off, but perhaps the fear of being bullied & wanting to fight fire with fire was too great.Said much the same on an earlier post on this thread Sheepy - see below.......

Can't quite understand Johnson's decision on that one but there you go.![]()

It was a pretty terrible game, where 0-0 would've been a fair reflection, but if one side deserved to edge it, it was Cardiff. Any lingering hopes of automatic promotion are now realistically dead - now it's about finding enough form to reach the playoffs and be competitive in them. As ****ty as we may feel after the result, there's still something to play for.

That's because LJ , wrongly, thought this was how best to play you, it's not the way we always play, unlike you , this isn't meant as a criticism, just a fact. And today confirmed it.
Get a free kick within distance of our goalmouth throw up Flint and smash it up to him. Repeat all game. Easy stuff when we had about 6 players over 6 4.
We were/ are direct. You more so.

Il bow to your knowledge of your own team , it must be just the way you play against us then , although I wonder why Pep made the comments he did about playing you, both before and after playing you.Ashton - despite the often tedious criticism, it's not the way we always do it at all - that's rubbish. Warnock has a deep understanding of what it takes to win individual games in this division and it appears that Johnson still has a lot to learn.
We've recently put 4 goals past both Leeds up there and Sunderland at home with superior "on the deck" football because that was the way to beat them - you couldn't manage to do either and escaped with a point against both. When we've tried it and got it wrong against the likes of Fulham in the past we've come unstuck. It's the way you approach each game that counts, and getting it right more often than not is why we're where we are now.
Although he denies it and seemingly blames individuals on the pitch, Johnson did play the wrong tactics against us, tried to match us and paid the price. No amount of disparaging remarks about "the way Cardiff play" will count one jot come May. The table will show just which teams have got a better average of getting it right through the season.
I've got no reason to criticise Johnson - what's the point from our perspective except trying to score football forum Brownie points? We've never denied we're not the best pure footballing side in the championship and may well not make an auto spot, but at least we've got a manager who's equipped to take us there.

We did ok by playing football against them, so I do see your point , just don't necessarily agree with it.When will you start to understand the point about how to play depending upon who you're playing?
Do you think we were going to take on a team like Man City by playing to their strengths? You really are missing the point here. The fact that in my opinion we "rolled" over in the Man City game, and I've said that on my own forum, rather than take them on with our own game is a perfect point in what I'm trying to say.
I suspect any mention of our Man City game and the Joe Bennett incident will be brought up again, but the equally appalling tackle by Delph in the Wigan game will be conveniently ignored.
Forget Man City, Guardiola and the excellent games you had against them in the Carabao - we're all now back in the Championship playing Championship games - no amount of previous back-patting in the past will keep you in the top 6.
You've done well consistently by playing the way you do, good luck to you , but it's not the only way to do it, Wolves have also done well consistently, but ide argue their approach is different to yours , that's my point. When will you start to understand the point about how to play depending upon who you're playing?
