When we lived in France Sunflowers were grown commercially and it was a sight to drive past field after field seeing them all facing the sun and standing proud, I never saw them laid down, maybe they kept each other up as there were thousands of them.
I bet that looked great, it's always impressive when there's loads of the same plant in the same place. I'll get a dwarf variety that grows to about 5 foot next year, these ones are huge and the flower heads are tiny compared to pretty much every other sunflower I've seen.
Been doing another model, a Westland Sea King.
Was only a cheapish (£20) starter kit and included paints etc, but the quality was excellent, thoroughly enjoyed doing this one.
I made a weighted wooden crate and attached cables to give a lifting effect.
Well pleased how this one came out.

That one took some doing, things massive.
On the crate, I was gonna put the Hummel logo, but a red cross was easier

Looks awesome that Snaggey. remember that just before I met Mrs K I bought a Supermarine Spitfire model. Never got round to doing it and it sat gathering dust in my our garage for about a decade before it went to the charity shop. Looking at yours I wish I had now.
On another note, it’s 7:40am here in Singapore and Mrs K has just got to the hotel where we’re staying having just landed from the UK. Most importantly she’s brought a birthday present for me being Sir Bobs autobiography. Looking forward to reading that.
Was at Dubai Airport waiting to board my flight to Ponteland and there was only 2 people wearing the black and white of the great unwashed.
One of them an Asian guy but the other one was cringeworthy to a new level. He was complaining about the extra checks they do when at random they pick people before boarding and check the carry on luggage for any items, but they also check with a sniffer stick for drugs. He was shouting, swearing and balling about the fact that he had been through security and was not going through security again as the 'law' said he did not have to. He stormed past the security guard like one of Jossies giants and tried to board the plane with his missus in her very fetching tight animal print leggings wobbled along with him. To be honest was really embarrassing.
Anyway they hauled him off the flight and took him to airport jail whilst his missus kept quiet and flew home.
My guess is he will be getting a full scan and cavity search and will have to pay for a new flight.
Anyway flight still left on time just with one empty seat.

I've had to avoid the Oasis thread because it obviously means a lot to people and I don't want to be a killjoy.
But seriously, I find the whole thing the exact antithesis of rock & roll.
It all reminds me of how Newcastle supporters have allowed themselves to be hoodwinked and sport washed.
People are paying absolute fortunes to watch tiny figures on a stage, massive TV screens, areas for twelve year olds, etc. And these aren't the latest, hottest, wildest young dudes, they're two middle aged men being photographed looking moody.
What next after a tour of stadiums, will they do an 'Adele' and cop a Las Vegas casino residency ...
... and will people still think they're wild men of rock?

There's been a big birthday weekend so I gathered up all the champagne bottles, etc, and put them in the footwell of the van, and front seat, then set off for the bottle bank. As I drive through the village there's cars parked all along the left kerb but enough room to get through. Then a tractor comes flying round the corner towards me so I brake and move over.
There's a big crash so I'm thinking 'Great, insurance claim, my fault, NCB screwed' and pull up at the next gap so I can leave notes on whichever cars I've hit. There's another crash and I realise it's bottles falling out of the bag on the seat! I'm now wound up with mesel, for being stupid, so blow up and start violently punching the steering wheel and screaming 'f*ck f*ck f*ck!
When I snapped out of this rare and unexpected rage I glanced to my left to see a poor kid, about eight years old, staring at me and burst into tears. I pondered the wisdom of leaving the van, taking his hand and explaining that sometimes adults do silly things but that it's actually quite harmless ...
... then I put the van in first gear, floored it and screamed off down the hill leaving him in tears.
F*ck all these child molesting pervert celebrities who've made it so difficult to speak to kids on the street of your village.
