I've managed to get through the whole of October without putting my heating on and I've only had to wear a jumper/hoodie for warmth.
On one of our teams calls at the other day, a lad working from home had his dressing gown and a wooly hat on. Is anyone else going to such extremes?![]()

Smugs not going with you thenMaybe a bit early to be on the scrounge for tickets but here goes, we lost a good friend a few years ago and we have booked a bus and pub for the Hull game, some of the lads that are going havent attended a match in years but are determined to go in tribute to our mate. He lost his life in an unfortunate accident and was well loved in our area, he used to attend home and way back in the day and many of his old mates who he used to attend with will be attending for the 1st time in many years. There are 30 of us with season ticket holders in amongst that lot but we may struggle to get enough tickets for everyone, any spares will be very much appreciated. There is no chance of any trouble as the lads in question are in their 60s now and just want to go to pay tribute to our friend. The pub we have lined up is ran by a friend of ours and I am sure he would welcome anyone who would like to attend. Thanks in advance to anybody who may be able to help with any spare tickets.

Where did you poach that joke from? Were the bodyguards scrambled ....
loads of suppliers have jumped on the bandagon IMO, they've seen the chance to raise prices and blame it on everything from covid to russia. Its disgraceful but greed is a powerful force. I hope some of them will overstep the mark and lose trade because of it, but I'm not holding my breath.Edit — this was a reply to Youngs post above- but managed to make it a new comment
A tin of Heinz beans used to be about 80p. Now 120p. I’m sure Heinz will be saying the extra 40p is down to world prices of haricot beans and tomatoes.
So , how come Aldi beans ( just as good in my opinion) were about 40p and are now still 40p. Same two ingredients. Does this show us that increases aren’t all / totally down to just raw material costs - the rest pure greed
Covid , the war and not forgetting Brexit all as available excuses to increase prices , it’s a wonderful time for anyone with something to sell.loads of suppliers have jumped on the bandagon IMO, they've seen the chance to raise prices and blame it on everything from covid to russia. Elon Musk's bullying and arrogant style of management blowing up in his face is proving to be quite entertaining. The number of Twitter executives resigning was a bad start, him forcing employees back to an office immediately and removing WFH privileges is backfiring and the whole "blue tick" debacle is just the cherry on the cake.
Lockheed Martin and Eli Lilly amongst others lost billions in market capital on Friday, all caused by parodies and scammers taking advantage of the $8 blue tick idea that Musk was warned didn't work but of course went ahead anyway because he knows best.
Sponsors are dropping Twitter like a stone and I would expect lawsuits off the back of this. Multi-billion dollar companies are not going to accept being defamed and their share prices plummeting just because Musk has made a mess.
