Bit of an update on the Mrs....and it's better news, at last. Bit of a long post, so apologies for that....
She is on a big selection of meds, some for her renal issues, but also some anti siezure drugs following her siezure on 1st January. Quite a few of these are to keep her blood pressure in check, and most of these (11) are taken first thing on a morning.
She was initially having dialysis at the Freeman on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, 3 x 3 hour sessions. These were always on an afternoon...1.00pm till 4.00pm. A few weeks ago she was transferred for dialysis at a renal unit on the Team Valley, same days, but 8.00am till 11.00am....this is when the problems really escalated. Nausea, sickness, (meant she had no appetite, and anything she did eat came back up - went from 10 stone to 8 stone in a month), aches, severe fatigue, muscle cramps, constant dizziness, fainting after dialysis......just really unwell.
I rang the Freeman on Friday and spoke to her renal consultant and asked the question that with all the meds she is taking to control her blood pressure, which she is taking about 7.00am, then starting dialysis (which also reduces blood pressure) at 8.00am....could this be part of the problem, could we move some till after dialysis? He thought it was worth a try, so advised which ones to move. Only x3 tablets could be moved, and on dialysis days only, but it has definately made a big difference. Two sessions, (sat and today), and been OK after both. Today, we even went out for something to eat.....first time she has had an appetite for what seems like ages. It feels like we have turned a corner....a bloody big corner.
