I like a bit of volume at times ( with my music). . I’d happily sit near you , even though not keen on Springsteen , because I’d know you’d be moving on to Meatloaf next , then maybe Lynrd Skynrd and different stuff ( with actual tunes and lyrics) . It’s the boom boom base that is identical for every “ track” , every “ artist” no sing a long that gets on my tits
I love a bit volume, can't beat some good music cranked up. I've long been resigned to listening to my stuff through headphones though...the rest of the family, including the dog, won't tolerate it. Motorhead, AD/DC, Iron Maiden, Scorpions etc just doesnt go down too well at home. I think (I know!!) my hearings suffered over the years because of it. Everything Louder Than Everything Else. ♤
The wife drinks these coffee bags and on the rare occasion I make her a cuppa all I can smell is cigarette smoke. Minging
Got no issue with music and people playing music, but I DO have an issue when someone is playing a video or a tune on their phone in the middle of a pub, restaurant or aeroplane. Flight to Cancun in August and some little scrote was watching TV shows on their ipad with the sound up whilst everyone else had the good grace to use airpods/earphones etc Parents just sitting in the next row, doing nowt
Let me get this right. You go to Costa and pay a arm, a leg, a kidney and a spleen for a latte and add a sachet to it? **** that!
It's indicative of lazy parenting. I've lost count of the times we've been out and the parents just stick an ipad in the bairns mits and tell them to watch it. How the hell are the bairns supposed to develop social skills?
The ones riding around in the shopping trolley with a screen to watch !!!!!!! I once observed a kid of about 4 devour McD burger and fries , one handed, without ever taking his eyes off the screen they provide to play games on.
Pisses me off that parents these days expect their kids to be taught about life from a computer screen and whatever they can find on social media or youtube, how do we expect them to grow up with values and respect when they are basically fending for themselves. I know a few school teachers and all they complain about is parents who expect them to parent their children for them. FFS this world lurches from bad to worse kids are growing up and are being taught to be selfish and inconsiderate by ****tards and coke heads who to be honest should have been neutered at birth as they cant look after themselves never mind kids. as you can probably tell that I have little faith in future generations as being inconsiderate becomes the norm. I work in construction and finding good hard working young people is difficult as they a lot of them seem to think the world owes them something as soon as they are born and that they have some kind of entitlement to be paid for not working. They will spend more time looking for a way not to do something instead of working out how it can be achieved. Big Rant Over For Today (pleased i got that off my chest)
Agree. You've saved me some typing. I'll just add, McD teaches eating with fingers, and too many parents then rely on pizza etc at home -- then it's expected that the teachers have to teach the kids about knives and forks. The parenting world thats becoming.
Yeah, wouldn't disagree. My wife is a teacher and some of the stories I hear are unbelievable (there are probably loads more but my attention wanes after the 3rd one of the day) - parents who give their kids no discipline, but then march up to the school claiming little Shearer has been assaulted by the teacher and demanding action whilst wearing the ADHD diagnosis like a badge of honour. I'm mega cynical, but it appears that any and every child with behavioural problems is just categorised as ADHD and the teachers are left to get on with it. In my day (oh dear, here we go....) we have kids who misbehaved and they got disciplined at school and at home. The one time I got lines, my Dad made me do an extra 100 as a punishment for getting lines. Now the parents will storm up to the school and accuse the teachers of bullying I can't say too much about it, but there was a school my missus was at where the kids were really unruly and one of them was a nasty little **** - the kid would refuse to sit at his seat, telling the teacher to **** off etc etc (we are talking 10 years old here). Kid trips over his chair, hits the ground and the mother is at the school the next morning and the teacher is suspended for months while they investigate - meanwhile the mother is bragging in the school yard how she's "got that teacher sacked" Some nasty ****ers out there
My mate was the Headmaster at Scawby school and he disciplined a lad about 11 years old. The following day the kids father who was in prison used his prison phone card to ring him and tell him when he got out he was coming to the school to stab him. This is to a school where they had just won a top award from Ofsted, hate to think what a bad school is like.
In 2019 I represented our company at a careers event at Bedlington High School. I've since learned it's got a troubled history but when I arrived I thought it looked spot on, modern building facilities etc. Jesus how wrong could I be. There's always the wrong'uns in these events, but there seemed to be a far bigger proportion at that School. I remember one kid just sitting on the floor in the middle of the room, the teacher told him to move and he screamed back "**** off I hate you and you know you can't touch me". How the teachers put up with that on a daily basis is beyond me.
...and that is the problem, you see it everywhere, i wont be the only one who has witnessed it first hand 'tell 'em to feck off, they cant touch you or i will have the police on him/her/or will get him/her sacked', when i was driving the amount of kids that would just slowly stroll across a road in front of me while sticking the 'V's up' and i have heard parents say dont worry about a car as they have brakes and wont hit you...have seen men and women with kid sin cars driving like feck-wits and get annoyed because they cannot get past so go mental until they do get past then weave across the road telling the kids to stick the fingers up out the back window. we were never angels mind, far from it, but we knew if we got caught the coopper would give us a sore ear and if they took us to our door our dads would make the othe rone sore, politeness and common sense are what we live don, break either or both and there was another couple of sore ears, or worse.
I'm late 30s, so my secondary schooling was mid 90s to 2000. Some of the stuff I hear about now re attitudes towards teachers are a joke. I wouldn't have dared go on they way they do these days. Because of social media, everyone is an expert on all things they know nothing about. You see some, not all but some of these comprehensive kids strutting about with such massive chips on their shoulders being told how great they are. Only problem is, that sack of chips on their shoulders becomes a problem when they enter the work place. Some not all I'd like to point out.
My wife works as a teaching assistant and tells me all sorts of stories about out of control little ****s everyday. They all have a “condition” or a label. Most of them turn up to school as high as a kite due to mum and dad smoking all sorts of **** all night while the kid sleeps breathing it all in. Worlds ****ed.
During the 2 lockdowns in 2021 & 2022 my missus was on sabbatical so was able to manage the kids' schooling (thank God) but I know a lot of my son's mates were basically allowed to spend 18 months playing FIFA/Fortnite as the parents had no interest (the same parents who were apparently "happy" if my Son wanted to stay over whenever he wanted when we were all supposed to be staying at home - no thanks. ****s)
