I have tried to be patient. I have said that he needs time to imprint his mark on the team. But every single statistic I look at, every single time I watch us play, every single time I hear Emery's press conferences, I can't help but feel the bloke is totally out of his depth at this level.
The quality of football is worse, the defending is still abysmal, we are bereft of creativity, the players reportedly find his training sessions 'repetitive' and 'boring', and we are struggling for goals outside of Aubameyang's insane efficiency. He has also completely frozen out a player that, though has declined somewhat, is still by far and away our most creative player. And upon further reflection, there is no way anyone can objectively argue he wouldn't have made some difference to our play yesterday.
From a statistical point of view, here's how his first 47 games and Wenger's last 47 games compare:
According to Amy Lawrence, a journalist for The Guardian, we are actually -7 points and -9 goal difference worse off than we were in comparable league fixtures last season.
Then there are even more statistics which really do portray how inefficient Emery's tactics are:
For a manager that has a reputation for being tactically flexible, he has also shown symptoms of illogical stubbornness too. He is constantly telling players to play it out from the back when the opposition can foreshadow what we are going to do and they know exactly how to put us under pressure. There is no variety to our game. He made Xhaka captain, despite the impact his presence has on the speed of our play and his general rashness on the pitch.
Previously, the argument favouring him was "when Bellerin/Holding/Tierney are fit, then we can judge him". The problem is, now those players are fit, and he isn't bloody playing them!
It's been 16 months and he hasn't found his best 11 yet. It's been 16 months and he has not been able to give us a discernible style of play.
I just cannot see how he will turn things around from here. And based on where we're heading right now, and the fact we have gone 3 consecutive years without Champions League football, I don't think we're in a position to "give him until the end of the season" if he continues to alienate players, over-rely on Laca/Auba, and struggles to get points.
I think we need to get rid now before it is too late.

. In the same way that Wenger wasn't good enough in his final few years, and Emery not being good enough now, we can't let Mourinho become our manager. He has a history of falling out with players, his style of play is ultra defensive, he never assumes responsibility and his shelf life is 2 years (max). He has clearly declined as a manager in his latter years. It isn't in our interest to hire a dour, old-fashioned manager like him. We need someone relatively fresh, who is progressive and has innovative ideas, gives everyone a chance, and can play attractive football whilst improving us defensively.
