I thought England played quite well but then again i am comparing it to recent times in which we've been a whole lot worse. Thought Sterling was probably our best player but only because he got a full game. Welbeck and Henderson both played well IMO. Defensively we looked poor and will have to improve, especially if we go through.

Thought the Henderson sub was wasted and should maybe have been saved so we could chuck Lambert on when we needed a goal as we didn't really have anybody to cross to. Thought Baines was our worst player but he didn't get an awful lot of support tbf.

It was a decent performance though and lets be fair, Italy are a pretty good side and Pirlo is one of the best in the world.

So then, anyone else think the white Pele should now be dropped and Barkley given a chance instead of him like I said a couple of days ago?

Play Barkley on the left wing then, instead of Rooney?

Yeah, ****ing great plan that one.

How's this for a plan, we play Barkley at centre midfield instead of the completed ineffectual Gerrard who contributed absolutely **** all last night and we stop saying everything is down to Rooney, who at least made some mark on the game.

How's about that instead?

You don't need to do this Matth.

We all know the fixtures.

<ok>

RvP on his first goal vs Spain: "It is the best goal of my career. It was a brilliant goal, even I have to say that."

Next match;

I think Henderson should stay in as it allows Barkley to play behind Sturridge.

Centre mid of Henderson and Wilshere with Lallana, Barkley and Sterling in front of them.

Drop Johnson and play Jones. After last night I'd play Shaw ahead of Baines too.

May as well be hung for a sheep.

Scholes: “Holland play RVP in his best position, Brazil play Neymar where he wants to play, Argentina with Messi, Portugal with Ronaldo.”

And Rooney's seven goals during qualifying don't?
In a nutshell... No... He's not good enough to warrant that. Scoring goals in qualifying against bit part European minnows doesn't mean anything. He's not as good as those players listed above.

Both Henderson and Gerrard were poor. As was Baines. Ashley Cole would have dealt better with Candreva and Darmian. Both Welbeck and Rooney struggled to help Baines deal with Italy down the left.

Before people slag Rooney off, he made our goal. Gerrard and Henderson schooled by Pirlo and Verratti
