I don't think Saints should get involved in social media rubbish...at the end of the day it makes no difference. Don't give it oxygen. The only thing I respect is if we stick to our stance.
You may respect it Fran, but you're probably old school. A few years ago I would have said exactly the same. Today, unless these things are strongly refuted, silence is seen as compliance.

But all the gossip in the world on FB, Twitter etc has no effect on reality. The only people being confused are other people on social media. The real people concerned (players and clubs) are the only ones that matter in decisions. Be different if you are trying to win an election, but the swaying of uninvolved people has no effect on a business deal like this.

These Liverpool fans must feel like they have paid a bundle of cash to watch a stripper who rather unfortunately won't now get her kit off when it comes to the action.

VVD is not going to Liverpool and they have to get used to the idea. They are just being constantly teased and sadly creaming their pants because they keep falling for it. LFC know that if they persist in trying to buy VVD then they are in the **** with the FA which is why it is all blog nonsense.

As an aside I noticed today that the little "ear whisperer's" (aka Steven Gerrard) crap book "My Story" has been remaindered in The Works at £4 and on eBay for even less. It would seem nobody wants to read it. Am I surprised?

The media will get this story going again and then saints will put a message out in the Echo, or perhaps Telegraph, stating than none of our top players are for sale.

Van dijk will be kept another season and then sold for 60/70 million.

Yes, I do understand that, and upto quite recently I would have been of exactly the same opinion. But a significant amount of this social media noise is being produced by Liverpool FC itself, or its minions. It has an unsettling effect on the player involved, and it also gets a message across. These days, I don't underestimate the influence this stuff can bring to bear. In the end it can produce its own momentum. But let's hope you're right.

The scousers can keep messing their pants as much as they like over Van Dijk. It's annoying but will make it all the more funny when he's here come the window closing.
