Thanks Lambo.

Really pissed me off those remarks! I've hammered the bloody transfer thing with him trying to get him to see what has happened, but he refused.

Anything else wasn't even considered, they've signed 5 players from us and nearly a 6th.
Reading through the entire argument, I have to agree with you. I'm not going to kick up a fuss over it (you've already done that :) ) but I can see why you got so annoyed.

"Agreed" was your response when skylarker suggested I was having a dig, not "FLT wouldn't have meant that."

Reading back, I can see how it reads now, I was agreeing with him saying a lot of fans use it as sly digs now.

I didn't mean to say you had meant that, but I can see how it read like that so I do apologise <ok>

I do think it's poorly phrased though, as again even with no malice in it, you know that sort of thing will always resonate with those 2 events to most Liverpool fans (particuarly those from the area as jb & sky are I believe).

Again, apologies... it's been a long week and I obviously didn't read/respond properly.

Despite our differences, I wouldn't accuse you of something like that - unless you blatantly did of course which I'm sure you wouldn't.

Accepted, Cheers. No worries. You can see how upset I was that I thought someone may think that.

Hopefully the two reds realise that too.

Why are we even responding to the bin dippers?! It's irrelevant what they are any of us think. They are obviously ill educated, It isn't their fault. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

I'm pretty sure this is tongue in cheek but in case it's not...

The Liverpool fans on not606 are brilliant generallly, mentioned the other day that they're one of best on the site imo.

I've posted on their board on and off for a few years now and always had a good laugh with the majority.

Jb didn't exactly come here on the wum either, though some treated him like it...(Shocked here <whistle> )

Again, I'm pretty sure your post was tongue in cheek, but I've written all this out now so may as well leave it here ;)

My post is merely to point out that obviously a WUM on our board is their for a entertainment factor, But to let your level of emotion alter because what is said based on what's or not what's happened a little silly.

That being said, The Ignore/block function is their to help.

PS, I find a lot of other teams member enjoyable, And I do enjoy reading both sides of the coin... I'm very neutral like that.

Who treated him like a wum? I don't think anyone did. He was having a one eyed view about the situation and a few tried to point out how glaringly obvious it was that the apology was an admittance of guilt. All clubs tap up, but no-one ever posts a public apology. He just didn't want to see it that way.

Was he on the wum? Didn't seem it to me.

I could see that FLT, People like that just need to ignored, No point debating or even trying to see your view if they just refuse to listen to what you have to say.... Best to just let them talk to themselves.

As TLL says though, he wasn't on a wind up in my opinion, he just couldn't see the obvious.

Virgil has been badly advised by his greedy agent. He's been foolish but to call him a disgrace is a bit far. If we sell him, fine but if he stays and settles down, I'm fine with him being captain. After all, Morgan did the same and we all forgave him.

Not sure Morgan's little bed wet was forgiven exactly. Overlooked, I think is a better choice of word. And then really only after he started smiling again, and that was during the WHU away match at Upton Park. He gave up being Mr Grumpy after he scored his second goal.

Liverpool were obviously out of order but VVD was just as bad (assuming the various articles are correct). He should have gone through the right channels (or the usual tapping up ones) and had a bit of respect for Saints. If he stays he's not fit to be captain and I hope he's not. I no longer care whether he goes or stays as long as we get stupid money for him. He is just another mercenary.

I can't see anywhere I've said Liverpool didn't mess this up in fact, quite the opposite, I said we've been amateur hour in our transfer business for too long now.

We all have opinions and they can't be refuted but when you throw 'facts' out there like nothing being in the manc papers and Liverpool being the only club to brag about it etc etc and that's shown to be simply untrue, where do some of you lot go - the well trodden rivals last resort stereotypical remarks. Ah well at least I tried to have a decent conversation - thanks to those who responded in kind <ok>

Please re-read what I said. I thought Liverpool Echo were the first to report of City's interest, not that the manc papers hadn't reported it. I was wrong, I thought they had rehashed something from the echo after they had said it, my apologies. I think the second point still stands, Liverpool ****ed it up by saying they had beaten City/Chelsea to the signature because VVD said he preferred Liverpool.

I am clearly not an elite athlete like a PL player is, but I struggle to comprehend why a player would pigeon hole themselves like that publicly given the rules in place. The only thing I can think of in some sort of defence of Liverpool is that they were trying to appease the fans by saying that they had beaten City/Chelsea to a signing.

Really the only response to any 'Pool poster on here regarding this saga is to stick the apology in front of their faces. It says everything, there's nothing to discuss and no way to add to it. It's so incredibly funny that they've had to do this, so embarassing for their club. This literally only happens in extreme cases of complete and utter ****wittery.

And it's really unbecoming to try and turn this around and make themselves the victims of some malicious slight. Yes its wrong to use the unfortunate history as an attack, its equally wrong to use it as a defence when you're utterly in the wrong.

McMenemy talking about how the Van Dyke saga is a good sign for Saints. I think it has done our image a lot of good....suggests that we are not pushovers. One paragraph from LFC has changed the perception of us to Joe Public. We all get annoyed about assumptions made about us in the press...and admit it, don't we all believe it as well. We argue against these throwaway comments about us selling players....but like a dripping tap it does affect us. I think Saints fans puffed out their chests a bit this week....so enjoy it while you can*

*All part of Saints law....Saints fans can never be happy for longer than 48 hrs as another disaster is just around the corner

It's overdue which just means it will be a biggie.<wah>

I can see what you're saying JB, but as my discussion with Sky earlier in the thread we all know it goes on and every club does it, it would be naive to think otherwise.

I just think it normally is done indirectly through the likes of agents etc. n sounding out if there's interest or not.

I think a manager meeting a player in person is a slightly different kettle of fish, and I think our board got the hump as we've done enough business over recent years to not be sly about it and at least contact us to enquire.

I still think Klopp did it without your boards permission/knowing about it, a public statement apologising is relatively unheard of so they must have known we had them bang to rights.
I agree mate. We still don't know if Klopp actually met him, in all likelihood he did just like Wenger must have met Suarez, you can't get to the point of agreeing terms with a player over the phone. I'm sad my club has been so amateur.
