I only know one: >Olsson Anyone else? I am surprised we haven't considered Matej Vydra as he is an amazing attacker and worth half as much as Shea! Also Udinese are prepared to let him go and he would like to leave. However he could be a player good in the championship not BPL. Anyone agree?
Dont know much about him mate, but I would rather pay a little extra and get proven premier league players, TP has bought several supposed talents that have either never played or rarely made the squad, Aresmendi and Cuvellar spring to mind at cost of about 8 million combined plus wages. I think Olsson would be a good aquisition, but whether its a TP aquisition is a different question - very forward minded. For me, Adam not getting a run or not being used in his natural position is a very big worry and raises the ugly truth of Stoke/TP being unable or unwilling to work with players who want to create and be an offensive threat. I said on another thread that with Adam and Nzozni (preffered CM's) and Wilson and Palcious as a back up we have a solid and felible central midfeld. Again with our CB's in Huth and Shawx and Begovic/Butland our central spine is fine - IMO. The problem starts with our FB's and although Cameron and Wilson have done an excellent job it is not their natural position and I honestly believe that untill we have postive overlapping FB's we will never score regular goals or play the ball forward without hoofing. The wings are now another major concern, Ethringtons fitness and form and the sigining of Brek surely means that TP has no faith in kightly, I thought it was a strange buy anyway. Pennant is the other issue, full of ability but unable to be played and Walters is neither effective or fast enough and this adds big problems/balance issues to our wide right position. Upfront is a difficult one. I actually think that if we played better football these guys would score goals, but for what ever reason its not working, but with 40 million plus invested in strikers since our promotion, its seems that Tony cant see through the whiskey in his glass in this department. One of either Crouch/Jones needs to go (they offer so little in playing style its pointless) and Jerome needs to be given a run. Walters has had more than enough opportunity and is at best a bench player, Owen was a pointless signing and although Crouch has returned on our investment, both he and Owen we sigings that were not in the best interests of the club - similiar to Upson and Woodgate - Glory signings! So for me we need a new manager who will work with the natural talent we have, hold no GRUDGES and play them in their natural positions. Lose Crouch, Owen, Whitehead, Whelan, Kightly and probably a few more and invest in; 2 x PROPER Full Backs. 1 x Right Winger (Bentley is an option) but someone who can cross the ball. 1 x Striker (Pace is the key, we need someone to run beyind the defenders) This for me would make us a team that could compete week in week out in all comps and expect to be 10th - 6th each season.
KKB beat me to it. Number 1 priority A New Manager Number 2 priority A New Manager And TIN HAT on...A new Chairman!! Incoming..............
For a while on the Football Weekly podcast they had a running joke about teams and players names after QPR signed Ji Sung Park. People were phoning in saying they should have also signed Nile Ranger, and that they should tempt Niall Quinn out of retirement (or sign any other Quinn). So they could be Quinn's Park Rangers.
Add Whelan Whitehead and few more to that quote Jowler.. P.S. I returned my (season ticket re-newal forms last week) I'm NOT re-newing next season.... **** ME The Postman put the bloody same forms through my door again today.. said (return to sender) on the top left of the A4 envelope. (headbang)
Potts, They may be robbing us blind but it's Pulis who is really screwing us. P.S. The postman must work for Stoke and he wasn't listening either!!!
Scott Dann - says it all! Buy 2 full backs and use Cameron as CB or defensive midfiled cover - simples!
