Should a permanent politcs thread be kept on this forum

  • Yes

  • No

Results are only viewable after voting.
A politics thread might be a good idea, segregate some of the dumdums who go on about armchair managers as they obviously aren't open to football debate. Make it a general one so they can chat **** about anything and nobody has to read it

Thanks to everyone who has voted so far. It’s good to read people’s opinions, both for and against having a thread on politics.

There have also been some good counter ideas, such as a general ‘off topic’ thread where politics, amongst other topics, can be discussed.

However, analysing the results so far seems to suggest that most forum members do not object to the creation of a permanent politics thread. So far, the consensus seems to be indifference: it speaks volumes.

As OLM points out, the Hull City Not606 forum has an impressive 2,500 strong membership and so far only just over 1.5% of these members have objected to the idea of a permanent politics thread.

I look forward to hopefully reading more views on my suggestion, equally both for and against.

Thanks

The majority voted against it, I'm afraid the vote was lost.

Which is a blessing, as I'm pretty certain it would have been regretted within weeks.

A couple of days ago, you correctly pointed out that 42/2500 voters wasn't ‘…really representative [of the forum]’ so surely you don’t now believe that 73/2500 is?

I never, at any point, suggested the terms of this question – nor did anyone else. It seems quite presumptive for you to now claim that the resulting decision is purely based on votes cast.

The question was to find out what members thought and it cannot be denied that the vast majority of members have spoken by proxy of apathy– they do not care if there if there is a political thread therefore, by allowing a political thread, it only 'disappoints' a small number of the forum.

In fact, to be crystal clear, as stated, less than 2% of the members have voted against it so far.

Additionally, contrary to your use of of tense, the poll is open for seven days and there’s still time for a true majority to vote either way.

Thanks

Can't see this post lasting long either. Enjoy it before it gets deleted.
