Good response so far - very close too.

However, there are still quite a few abstentions and absences who, if they choose to bother voting, could swing this either way.

Unless 60% vote in favour in a 70% turnout it shouldn't count.

We've got over 2,500 registered users, I don't think 42 is really very representative.

42 is the answer to life, the universe and everything.

I think that it's very representative.

It can certainly be argued that out of 2,500 members, a very very small percentage of the forum is actually against the idea.

The vast majority seemingly don't care, therefore, it would harm hardly anyone to allow the thread - as outlined in my OP.

too many times I want to read city related threads but have to waste valuable eating and drinking time wading through absolute ****e you lot post when you get distracted by a shiny thing!! now im all for freedom of expression and all this divided country bollocks needs a forum where we can blow off steam and chew the fat. so why not have some section for non football related chat like some other sites that allows those of us that want to talk non footy stuff? here endeth the lesson- as you were guys n gals,

Oh by the way if the poll comes out 51 to 49 in favourof not having a separate section. as my house voted 100% in favour I reserve the right for a separate referendum and a special meeting with the mods to discuss my independence from this site.

These are tumultous times. Tories struggling to find a new PM, Labour on the verge of splitting in two and best of all the self- regarding metropolitan 'elite' thwarted by 17 million 'losers', the quiet folk for so long on the receiving end of the decisions favoured by the 'elite'.

Truly remarkable. The validity of democracy itself being threatened by screeching Remants, unable to believe they're on the losing side for once, and who demand a re-run so they can win.
Not as important as 'Game of Thrones' I grant you, but intriguing stuff.

The entire country is erupting. It's intriguing, fascinating and somewhat scary.

It'd be interesting to discuss the unfolding madness on this forum: this cross section of Hullensians at home and abroad.

With all the crazy stuff going on all over the world right now (including the wild weather), we seem to be witnessing many of the long-predicted signs that this could indeed be the beginning of the actual End Times. If so, I may finally become religious. But I'm old, thankfully; I may have reached 200 'likes' just in time.

WHOOOOSH. See post #54 on this thread. And your choice of noun is one that the grown-ups on this forum agreed not to use some time ago. It must be a word that's directed at you a lot.
