Coverdale put out two solos albums after the demise of Purple, 'Northwinds' and 'Whitesnake'; the latter of course giving rise to the subsequent band of the same name. I think 'Northwinds' is the better of the two, but very different to anything more familiarly associated with the loon pants salesman from Saltburn. I often think the proof of a classic album is when songs from it continually and randomly pop into your brain on numerous occasions. This is very much the case for me and 'Northwinds'.
