Ok, it's Friday afternoon so here is a fun one. Anyone remember this?
Burning, looting, raping and shooting, this sounds like a typical Friday night in Reading.
And a couple more...
On the real music trail again, here's three of Jethro Tull's finest... Top top stuff Sooper, Kenny Everett and Jethro Tull. Kenny was one of the many fine comedians that helped shape my twisted sense of humor. I preferred Kenny when he was on ITV in the Kenny Everett video show. Also a very good radio DJ to boot.
Here is one of my fave drummers Bill Bruford with a killer bit of bass playing from Jeff Berlin. From the Bruford album "One Of A Kind" (1979) Bill Bruford – percussion, drums Allan Holdsworth – electric guitar . . . . . (Massive fan of this axeman) Dave Stewart – keyboards, synthesizers Jeff Berlin – bass
Many of the 'elite' rock guitarists of the late 60s and early 70s started out with John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, here's one of the most awesome examples of playing a guitar with 'feeling' featuring Peter Green...
Love the feeling vibe Sooper. Some music just does not need lyrics as the music can do the talking and paint a picture. Here is another one from Pat Metheny Group live album Travels (1983) Pat Metheny - Acoustic and Electric Guitars, Guitar synthesizer Lyle Mays - Piano, synthesizers, Electric Organ, Autoharp, Synclavier . . . Awsome piano player! Steve Rodby - Acoustic and Electric Bass, Bass synthesizer Dan Gottlieb - Drums Nana Vasconcelos - Percussion, Voice, Berimbau
Right, no more music thread posts from me tonight, So much to go back and listen too and enjoy. Catch up time for me. Look forward to more new ones!
A bit of old style madness... The best vocalist that I have ever had the pleasure to see (many times in London and New York)... And a track that I just keep coming back to...
Some more from the mid 70s... My favourite Roxy Music track... And these guys are still going strong 40 years later. They released an album a few years back called 'Gratuitous Sax and Mindless Violins', proving they are as wacky as ever... And the kings of Glam-Rock at their 'Blockbusting' best... Random time again. Here is some beat boxing at it's very best! Rahzel-if your mother only knew Rahzel M. Brown, also known as simply Rahzel, is an American musician and beatboxer, formerly a member of The Roots. Rahzel is known for an ability to sing or rap while simultaneously beatboxing, as evidenced in his performances of "Iron Man" and his signature song "If Your Mother Only Knew" From Wikipedia @ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rahzel I hope your all having a great weekend!

Great thread. Winning goals at Wembley is one way of reaching an all time high. The other of course is to be there, preferably at a small atmospheric venue when a performing legend comes to town. Last Wednesday, I managed finally to get to the Picturedrome in Holmfirth to see one of my musical heroes - Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes. I've been trying to do so since 1978. He lived up to al my expectations even though he is about 67. Fantastic. There are some great clips on You Tube especially the one where he sings with Bruce Springsteen, Steven Van Zandt and Jon Bon Jovi. There were lots of London accents there including a lady wearing a QPR top. The audience probably had an average age of 50. Did any of you go?
Sunday = chilling out...
