Soops did you do the all dayer in Hyde Park 75 or 76 when Queen headlined a free gig? They don't do them like that anymore!!!!!
OK, this one is for fun, It made me p**s myself laughing today. Oh I have nothing against Jessie J BTW!
No, I was in Hyde Park the day the Stones did their free concert but we were nowhere near the stage, it was just so crowded by time we got there. I was only 15 at the time and more interested in one of my mate's sister. I just remember the sound being terrible...
Not sure if any country music has been posted to date, but just stumbled on this.....thought it was originally John Anderson from Yes when i clicked on it...doh!!!! But it's not unpleasant.....
This guy also played that day in Hyde Park as part of the support cast for Queen......
Did you end up dating your mates Sister? Or was she one of many in your mad days! You must have been to many live gigs, what was one of your fave live gigs?
Oh, I highlighted the sound quality bit for a reason. Was it just a bad PA or as there was just so many people you could not get near?
I was there too Sooper. Got there early and plotted up not too far away from the stage, but couldn't get back after a 'comfort' break. Wound up miles away.
The sound system was poor but the Stones were poor as well, out of tune and sync, they really were awful. Whether the Brian Jones death had affected them is possible, it was a few days before that gig if my memory is right but it wasn't memorable for the music. And no, I didn't get off with my mate's sister either, bad day all round...
A Lesser known Eagles track from the Hotel California Album..... Also from the same album...
This was one Hyde Park event I wish I had been at, I think this was earlier in 69 and some of my mates did see it which pissed me off...
I saw Pink Floyd in Hyde Park too. First time I heard this...
Most memorable was at Earls Court 1973, Pink Floyd and the first time I'd experienced quad sound, they also had a plane on a wire that came down from the back of the arena and exploded behind the stage, I think elf & safety would have kittens these days...
1970 I think. These were on too..
When you have a spare hour and a half re-live the Queen Hyde Park concert from 76......
As I told Sooper, you lucky sod also. I was not born until 75. Most of my fave music comes form early 60's till about mid 80's. The record industry is just so commercial now that there will never be a music period like it again I fear. There is still plenty of good new music and talent these days but most of them won't be remembered like Floyd, Zep to name just two in years to come. Shame really!
Cheers! It's on the QPR Forum music thread archive now. There is quite a few that I come back and listen to on here now. I also love the whole album posts too!
