No your right. That’s why I just found his football boring.

Let’s remember Rafa was a name: that’s all. He was pragmatic. But he was good at that.

Rafa was good for us, but unfortunately nufc fans started complaining and saying they'd rather lose 4 - 3

I’d rather lose 4-3 than lose 1-0. But I’d rather win 1-0 than lose at all.

Said every fan ever.

Youd think that, but a large % of nufc fans spent the 1st half of last season saying it was boring crap football and would rather lose 4-3

They were then given Jones, scored more goals than anyone outside the top 6 in the last 18 games including would you believe a 4-3 loss to City and they kept complaining

This season so far its not looking good but its early

Benitez had a net spend of next to **** all there though didn’t he? So hardly apples with apples compared to what Bruce has been given.

Not comparable anyway as there was a relegation in the mix. So when we generated circa 90m in relegation, Rafa spent 55m to get out the championship. So to suggest Rafa never had money to spend would be misleading. It would be different if these were all PL seasons for them both. Bruce has had exactly the same support as Rafa, **** all. There are different rewards in terms of what is generated by a few PL seasons.

That's without getting into the fact he didn't spend the 40m on Joelinton and you can't really slate Joelinton as bringing 4m in value to the club, nevermind 40m. Or that Joelinton was essentially paid for by selling Perez for 30m. But in the eyes of fans Perez isn't counted as Bruce sale, Joelinton is a Bruce buy.

I always think net spends are misleading anyway. It all depends what you've been left with squad wise in assets to sell by the previous incumbent. So in Rafa's case he was probably left players like Sissoko, Wijnaldum, Mitrovic, Townsend, Janmaat, Mbemba. All could bring in serious money. Bruce hasn't been left with much to sell.

All in all its not really worth looking at the figures. What we can say about both Rafa and Bruce, neither has been supported when in the PL in line with other clubs approach. Both underfunded and hampered from the off. But hey that's the Ashley way.

Money to one side, one thing we can all agree on is that unde rafa we'd go into games away at man united etc hopeful of a point, but we're back to going into this game knowing it's a hopeless case.

Rafa was a far better manager and knew what to say and what not to say.

In other words, less than we got for Wijnaldum and Sissoko
