And look where we finished. Quite how you can say either of them were as good as Coutinho amazes me. Take Gerrard's pens away, and then look at it.

I'm not saying either were as good as Coutinho. I'm not saying either (Gerrard) was even good. All I'm saying, regardless of how good/**** they are, there two players of our first team that we now need to go and replace. And until the season is under way and we're a month or two in we can't say whether or not we have. We need to build on our squad, not merely replace it.

For the records I'm referring largely to Sterling more than Gerrard, who I agree was right to move on for both parties.

Can't not be over the moon with this, seriously this guy for 49 million? Even if he was fully committed to us I would be screaming for us to say DEAL!

Only difference is that I now hope the vile little **** fails miserably.

Ibe will step in nicely here I'm sure - his attitude is top notch too

Precisely <ok>

Sorry mate, but in them last 6 months of the 13/14 season Sterling was our key player. His movement and passing alongside SAS was unplayable, and for the first few months of last season he was our best player, until the contract talks started and his head and heart were no longer with us. By no means is he the finished product though, which is the frightening thing. His finishing obviously let's him down.

RE IBWT, Gerrard was still our top scorer last season, second Sterling. Which sums it all up to me.
What it sums up is that we were ****ing useless up front- nothing more.

Don't see it mate. Everyone seemed desperate to applaud how great a success he was in his new position, but I just kept seeing him give the ball away far too much. He and Carra should have gone at the same time. Yes he's a massive player for the club, but you have to look at it dispassionately and say, the legs have gone, time to ship him out, not rob a good player of his place. We'd have done far better with Lucas, and not Gerrard in the team.

But he was just s much influence as sas 2 years ago in that 2nd place finish... His long range passing stretched the game and opened teams up as well as his set price delivery which was probably the best it's ever been for us

He's not the first player to be a ****. Still undoubtedly gifted though, and it's another one of our top players jumping to a better club, regardless of the price.

He's not the first and he won't be the last. However, the difference is in quality. Usually a player acting all Johnny big bollocks is actually a Talented player that can win or changea game on their own. Sterling is a long way from being that player. Sure, he may get there eventually but £49m for potential...???

You can argue that he's already a game changer. Though I do see your point; He's not in the same league as Torres and Suarez who are up there with high fees. However this will only be a good deal for us if we spend the money wisely. Rodgers I'm looking at you.

And that's where it gets ****ed up lol

I don't agree that he's a game changer, he's done very little to assist he is imo

Wossup, Magic?
Never seen you like this before, mate. Are you doing a test to see whether it's possible to put a negative spin on the most negative-free event in the history of football? <laugh>
We've just got £49M for a self absorbed, **** stirring work in progress who may or may not turn out to be a pretty good footballer.

The only thing to be negative about is how poorly we'll probably spend it.

**** lot of money for 14 assists and 18 league goals in 3 seasons. I have no idea what City are thinking paying £45. for him.

Mate you're all of the opinion that I'm seeing this as a negative thing. I absolutely don't, just pointing out it's not quite as rosy as people are making out. And it's of my own opinion that he's a cracking player and both happy and gutted to see him going. Won't miss him, mind.. Just think he's got talent.

He will be in the MLS in 4 years with talents of a similar ilk. Bradley Wright Phillips for example.

His career is done for.
