yeah because Platini finally realised that FFP gave an advantage to the PL over their European opponents because of the TV money in the PL and the global appeal of it.
How could PSG compete with FFP?
FFP was meant to maintain the status quo, but it will actually break it thanks to disparity in ££ compared to the rest of €urope

FFP was never meant or designed to allow a club over ten years to develop sustainably to challenge it was designed to prevent anyone else coming in with oil money and buying a leauge.

It had nothing to do with "saving clubs" and even less to do with fairness. It was always going to monopolise football for a small few clubs
Then there is the global appeal of the PL, which is noththing to do with fairness, but it does give the PL a distinct advantage over almost every other league.
Over time this difference in finances would begin to have a big impact whereby you may have a situation a decade from now where the wages are just too good in England to turn down for players who would play for Atletico Sevilla Shalke and so on, Bayern Barca Real ect will always be a pull, but the rest of Europe's teams will suffer imo.
I am not stating this is a certain outcome, but it is a very likely one. PSG are already FFP hogtied and Monaco?
Whilst Chelsea Man U City and Arsenal will avail of plenty of TV wads and sponsorship deals, the global position of the PL gives it a HUGE advantage going forward under FFP.UEFA see this all too well. There is no other reason to relax FFP other than allow those who are struggling with it to complete, like PSG for example, United Real Barca and Arsenal, Chelsea are all fine wiith FFP as it is.
That's my take on it anyway, I think UEFA have seen that FFP will only strangle the majority of Europe while the top 4 sides financially in England can dominate the transfer market.
One just needs to look at the spending of leageus to see the huge gap thaty already exists, FFP will just make it worse over time.

UEFA see this all too well. There is no other reason to relax FFP other than allow those who are struggling with it to complete, like PSG for example, United Real Barca and Arsenal, Chelsea are all fine wiith FFP as it is.

The reason for their altered stance is the ongoing legal challenge which is likely to see the courts rule that FFP is in breach of the EU treaty.

this was mentioned a few years back about someone making this case. It would be a good thing imo.No point. To most clubs he is worth only £25m-30m. And very few clubs will go over that long contract or no.
The risk is that you are saddled for a long time with a very high salaried player who cannot be moved on.
