I thought Man City had some money issues to do with FFP? Isn't that why they couldn't budge on the Bony fee?
FFP has gone by the board as Platini realised it would affect PSG too much.

Push that price Liverpool.
I reckon we can get £30+ I just hope we are not looking to keep him.![]()

Ffp has since been relaxed.... In other words it doesn't really exist anymore

yeah because Platini finally realised that FFP gave an advantage to the PL over their European opponents because of the TV money in the PL and the global appeal of it.
How could PSG compete with FFP?
FFP was meant to maintain the status quo, but it will actually break it thanks to disparity in ££ compared to the rest of €urope
It's already apparent with at times the same quality player in the PL costing triple what you would pay in Europe
actually it doesn't. if anything the tv deal in england makes it harder for the top english clubs to fill thier squads up and distracts from europe.

Whilst Chelsea Man U City and Arsenal will avail of plenty of TV wads and sponsorship deals, the global position of the PL gives it a HUGE advantage going forward under FFP.Platini stating that the FFP rules will be relaxed, has nothing to do with his Nationality or a deliberate change in their strategy to make football clubs operate within their means.Sorry mate, you are completely in error. Hate that, especially when you start off with "actually"
FFP has done the damage Platini and co wanted, to curb the new money in Football as Monaco and those Russian teams as well as City have backed off on the spending. It had nothing to do with "saving clubs" and even less to do with fairness. It was always going to monopolise football for a small few clubs
Then there is the global appeal of the PL, which is noththing to do with fairness, but it does give the PL a distinct advantage over almost every other league.
Over time this difference in finances would begin to have a big impact whereby you may have a situation a decade from now where the wages are just too good in England to turn down for players who would play for Atletico Sevilla Shalke and so on, Bayern Barca Real ect will always be a pull, but the rest of Europe's teams will suffer imo.
I am not stating this is a certain outcome, but it is a very likely one. PSG are already FFP hogtied and Monaco?Whilst Chelsea Man U City and Arsenal will avail of plenty of TV wads and sponsorship deals, the global position of the PL gives it a HUGE advantage going forward under FFP.
UEFA see this all too well. There is no other reason to relax FFP other than allow those who are struggling with it to complete, like PSG for example, United Real Barca and Arsenal, Chelsea are all fine wiith FFP as it is.
That's my take on it anyway, I think UEFA have seen that FFP will only strangle the majority of Europe while the top 4 sides financially in England can dominate the transfer market.
One just needs to look at the spending of leageus to see the huge gap thaty already exists, FFP will just make it worse over time.
Platini stating that the FFP rules will be relaxed, has nothing to do with his Nationality or a deliberate change in their strategy to make football clubs operate within their means.
The reason for their altered stance is the ongoing legal challenge which is likely to see the courts rule that FFP is in breach of the EU treaty.
this was mentioned a few years back about someone making this case. It would be a good thing imo.I am now firmly of the opinion we should not sell him and we should convince him to first drop the agent then sign a new deal then sell him.
I agree with sisu.
FFP was never meant or designed to allow a club over ten years to develop sustainably to challenge it was designed to prevent anyone else coming in with oil money and buying a leauge.
If you look across euope FFP prevents anyone challenging barca and real sustainably. Bayern have germany locked, psg have france locked up. juve have italy locked up too.
FFP doesn't influence whats going on in england... the egaliarian Tv money deal has given so much money to poor teams that they are just shoveling it out on players. very few are building facilities now. that number is actually historically low.
No point. To most clubs he is worth only £25m-30m. And very few clubs will go over that long contract or no.
The risk is that you are saddled for a long time with a very high salaried player who cannot be moved on.
No chance, the best young player in Europe will be a prized asset.................
Rodgers said so...
"At 19 years of age you don't see anyone better. His intelligence with the ball, his movement and he's scoring goals. His first goal was a wonderful strike. He's just shifted it, got his shot off; to beat a goalkeeper of John Ruddy's quality shows you the quality of the strike.
"His pass for Luis' goal was like a top midfield player, so there's an assist, and his position for the counter attack when he broke away and obviously gets a bit of luck on the deflection but his overall performance he's shown so much maturity."
So he must have really improved with the additional CL and EL football he has played

Shame we don't have some kind of legally binding document that forces Sterling to remain at LFC for several years if his valuation isn't met
Oh, wait...

18 months, then he can negotiate his own future![]()

So basically his entire first team career all over again![]()

Chelsea baulk at Liverpool's £50m Raheem Sterling valuation
Chelsea are interested in signing Raheem Sterling but are not prepared to meet Liverpool's £50m valuation for the player, Sky sources understand.
The Premier League champions will continue to monitor the situation though, with the England winger refusing to sign a contract extension at Anfield.
That has alerted a number of clubs to Sterling’s possible availability over the summer, with Manchester City already understood to have had a £25m-plus bid rejected.

FSG playing hardball over the selling price, can't blame Chelsea "baulking" because hes not worth anywhere near £50m but I reckon they'll accept £35m from City in the next week or so.
